Match Thread (Sheff Wed)

No we dont. They will be deducted the points this season.

Not sure that's true. If they don't go down with a deduction then it applies the following season, this is to prevent clubs entering administration late in the season and effectively not receiving a punishment if the deduction means they stay in the same division.

Unless Wigan finish in the bottom 3 which is impossible they definitely get the deduction this season

If they're gonna do that may as well say go into administration and you get automatic relegation

That only applies if they finish in the bottom 3 after 46 games, as they wont, the points will be taken off after this match.

That's wrong. What you going to do deduct 12 points every season until they are relegated

Half time: bit of pressure from them at the end of the half but we have been alright, usual problems at the back but Tav excellent up front

One off deduction then applies for the start of next season so they start with - 12.

Could be wrong re which season it applies for Wigan, but thought I'd read this somewhere.

No it is definitely this season. Only time it would have been next season is if Wigan ended in the bottom 3

we waste a lot of free kicks by hoofing the ball way out of play. Those free kicks are hard earned but McNair just throws em away
