Mass exodus on 80 mins?

I always stop to the bitter end but I must confess I was relieved when the ref only added on 1 minute despite there being 3 goals and a brick load of subs in the 2nd half.

I suppose the difference with the cinema is that it's not a right pain in the ar** to get away after the film has finished. Access to the riverside is terrible so I can't really blame anyone who needs to be home or at work or anywhere getting a bit of a jump on the journey.
Football is a form of entertainment, if people aren't being entertained they're fine to leave, just like they would at a cinema. Yes you might get a dazzling 10 minutes at the end and it ends 5-5 but the odds are pretty much against that.
I fully understand both your points and even say each to their own and that people can leave whenever they want. The point I am making is about people leaving the ground to go and sit in a locked car park, narrowing the space between the different rows of parked cars and running the risk of their cars being scratched in the process.

If they want to do this, who am I to say they are wrong.

But that’s my point, you don’t. Only if there is a mass exodus do they stop you. Usually right up to 5 mins left you’re allowed out of the car park and it saves you anywhere from 45 to an hour

The following is taken from the clubs website: - Access and exiting the car parks is restricted to one hour prior to kick-off, and 30 minutes after the final whistle.

Maybe the stewards use their heads and let cars go whilst it is still safe to do so, but there are still plenty who don't make this early get away and are sat there until the crowds leave.

CHELSEA fans were leaving at half-time today!!!

Chelsea did not register a single shot on goal in the first half!

That doesn’t mentioned what happens during the game. Trust me, nearly 30 years at the riverside and you can leave the car park before the end of the game. Loads of players even do it

I am not doubting that and even said the stewards must be using their heads to allow people to leave, but there are plenty who get caught up and are stuck in the lanes between the parked cars. You must have seen that unless you've already gone. ;)

I’ve never seen that queue start to form until after the final whistle.

I know we had lost but I couldn’t believe how many people left. I haven’t seen the stadium that empty at full time for a few years and I don’t think ever during a good run after 1 defeat (to a very good team)
Who cares? Do you want a Blue Peter badge for staying ten minutes more?

That’s all I’m saying

Mansize

Why do we perpetuate the myth that access to the Riverside is terrible? An easy 20 minute stroll from the Zetland car park, or parking much closer if needed. Rarely takes me more than 15 minutes to get back to the A19, and I never leave early.
I’ve been to many grounds where the parking and getting away after the match is much more difficult and time consuming.
Bang on. I never leave early, park in college car park and live in Billingham. Generally home for half 5. Not bad at all.

I’ve had a season ticket for 29 years and yes I left early. So what? Let’s all bow down to the superior fans who endured the final ten minutes. Somebody upgrade them all to gold cards.

That’s all I’m saying
It’s not the leaving early per se, rather that you have to continually stand up to let the early-leavers past.

Can’t believe some of the snobbishness.

If people want to leave so what, the team chucked in the towel after the 3rd so fair play to those fans for sticking around for the 4th or 5th goal.

We were never coming back or even making a game of it so not much reason to stay.

I left after 60mins.. Took my 3yr old for his first match and he was bored half way through first half, I managed to get him to stay through half time and into the 2nd half but he got whingy after 15mins so we left
