Mason Holgate on loan to Southampton

I agree with the clubs seeming new philosophy of abandoning the reliance on loans players and looking at the longer term plan of developing our own younger players

I know most fans want to live in a cuckoo land where we can compete with relegated sides and overpay for average players, but havent we already gone down that road
or does everybody have amnesia from the last time we got relegated and spunked the equivalence of 10 years champo income on a load of overated potatoes?
I must have missed us spending £269m in 2017-18 season?
We turned over £26.9m last season and spent a nett £1m on transfer fees in season 2017-18 following relegation.
11 of the last 18 clubs to have been promoted to the PL have been very reliant on loan players.
Why do we think the A league etc is a more viable option?

Holgates salary this year is 3.6 million a year

So i would imagine saints are paying most of that

Whats that, half of the season ticket income at Boro?.............for an average centre back?

Really?
Our ST income is around £10m. But even if saints are paying most of his wages, it’s still far too much on a player like him, or anyone in our league for that matter.
