Marvin Emnes

Strachan totally binned off him and Joe Bennett.. playing Barry Robson at left back on one occasion. Kris Boyd was the softest 'big lad' i've seen on a professional football pitch.

I still to this day think that Strachan's only goal was to dig out the SPL using boro's money. Such dross

Feels like a lifetime ago that he was our main man up front.

He was a very frustrating player as he had the skill and potential but sometimes didn't have the heart to go with it all. His goal against Leeds was the highlight of his time with us.

Loved Marvin - I'd have him back (y)

Interesting that Napoli were sniffing around him. He always had talent but on reading that interview it becomes clear how important the role of the manager is. The season when he was top scorer he was excellent, just goes to show the fine margins at the top of the game.

He was awful. Another in a long line of very poor forwards.

a cult of a fan base developed around him for some reason. Probably because he had a cool name and dreadlocks.

His scoring record is abysmal, same as the current glut of chumps we have on the books.

I always liked Marvin, I always felt that he was just a touch of arrogance away from being a very decent footballer. He lacked self belief above everything else (he had the skills, decent turn of speed, spacial and positional awareness and worked hard) that is where the right manager comes in I guess?

He must be mid thirties by now?

I see parallels with Fletcher of this parish.

Interesting that when he was on loan Monk played him a lot, but then after signing he didn't - more signs/evidence of a dodgy Monk transfer deal? Get him in, make a quick quid and then bin him off

Probably correct there Newy. When I worked Offshore I was told by an Aberdeen fan that prior to Strachan buying Lee Miller he was about to be sold for half of what Strachan offered. Even half was too much for him

Well he digged out Aberdeen 3 mil for Lee Miller

I didn’t get the emnes love in either “the project” another non scoring forward.
