ManC Lyon

You would think someone had died on the pitch by the way McManaman was going on.

Exactly. Wasn't long before the Pep posts started!

I think there is a debate to be had about Guardiola.

Of course, he has been successful so the lazy namecalling, such as Fraudiola etc, isn't quite right. But, he has had pretty much all the money in the world at all the clubs he has managed, so it is easy to implement his playing style when he can recruit any player he wants. But, he should have won more, imo, than he has as a manager with the resources, players and financial, he has always had at his disposal.

How that Lyon goal was allowed to stand I do not know. Firstly the step over from the offside player that the pass was intended for but also the trip of the defender by the goal scorer?

This isn't football any more...

I hope Lyon get spanked off Bayern, I didn't like the way they played the game trying to get players sent off and the referee allowed them to get away with falling to the floor if breathed on. Refs in other games have been far better with this.

Had a bet on 3+ goals and received a free in play bet with Bet365. Put it on Lyon at 12/1 as I was surprised they were so high in a two horse race. Thanks Bet365!
I’m saying that the Arabs brought him to do one thing win the champions league and he’s failed to go deep into the competition again.

I’m not saying m he should go but the owners won’t be happy.

Leaves the Silva’s and Mahrez on bench and plays 3 defensive midfielders and they still get picked off.
Fernandinho is finished Rodri just a wall who gives the ball straight back to whoever passes to him . Not one iof there Defenders would get a game at any Of the other top 6 teams.
he’s only spent 700 million.
Top manager

You can blame pep, your have to expect to miss chances, even easy one. You have to create a number a clear cut chances to win the game

Man City have done it in other games but haven’t been clinical enough

Stirling’s miss was shocking but it would only have been an equaliser. I think Pep is quite rightly in the firing line for this. He picked the wrong side and wrong set up. He was far too concerned about Lyon than his own team. He them demonstrated his arrogance in refusing to change things as soon as he seen they were going wrong because that would have been admitting he made a mistake. Beyond De Bruyne the team lacked flair and to leave the subs he had on the bench for so long was a massive error. City had more than enough to win that game but like a few recent Boro managers I could mention, Pep thought he was cleverer than everybody else and his ego affected his decision making.

I have to say I don't see how a manager sticking by his tactic is 'arrogance', just means he had faith in his set up and it didn't come off such is football, nothing about arrogance. He lost the match, surely that's admitting a bigger mistake than making a sub or 2!
