Can't make it but that will be a good night. Hope a few turn up. Just bought his book at the weekend but not started it yet.

It is a really interesting read - in many ways he was living our dream in the early part of his career. He was a really talented junior player but for one reason or another he fell through the cracks. He got his second chance and seized and like Jamie Vardy was catapulted into the Premier League and U21s for England.
But he paid the price in all sorts of ways.
He is such a good speaker - our interview last week I only asked him about three of four questions his answers just flowed and flowed.
I would recommend the meeting to anyone in the area.

Was a really good evening. Malcolm spoke from the heart, really opening, so honest and human. Yet it is sucn an incredible story from supermarket to Premier League in under a year. And in the end bowing out of football just as quickly.
He is such an articulate guy, he has been to so many dark places in his career and his life but that will only serve to ensure he is a phenomenal mentor to the young kids at Boro's Academy.

Just watched him on Undr the Cosh. Great story but what about the treatment he got for his broken leg? Terrible.

Did he get into that at all last night?

He mentioned that it wasn't the best - read the book for more detail. Let down by club physios and also the specialist.
He said it was an emotional experience talking about it all last night - but he spoke superbly and documenting his mental health anguish as well can surely only help others as well as himself.

Surprised he settled on Teesside, was his other half local.? From Peterbrough area originally isn't he. Some class finishes on his youtube highlights. Hope he does well with the coaching.
