Mackem board bingo

“From 1890 through to 1960 we had total and utter dominance of the fixture but that has changed since 1960. Boro fans don’t like it but there is certainly an element of them taking the game more seriously than Sunderland.”

How can someone post something so daft without seeing the irony? Did they used to take it more seriously than us when they had total dominance? Jesus.

Have to laugh at the second post asserting our insignificance, despite us occupying a play off spot…..

It's strange as well how clued up he seems to be on on the history of the fixture. I know we have a good record against them in recent times but I've honestly never bothered to look at what our historial record in games against them is.

I wonder if he's also clued up on what their overall record vs Fulham and Swansea is.

So it's a Sunday 12 o'clock kick off, on TV, against a team they don't care about at all.....

They are on for their biggest gate of the season apparently. 😂
You'll notice that one thread is signifiantly bigger than the other, and there's still a week to go before our game.

Yeah it's quite possibly the stupidest thing I've read on their forum.

Their players just toss it off against us, but our players are obsessed with F***ing Sunderland and can't wait to beat them.

F***ing idiots.
Some of the stuff they try to convince themselves of is hilarious.

Have to say though it’s good to have this fixture back, plenty of chat and hype this week I’m sure. We should probably be happy enough with a draw really but it is Mogga after all, post-Christmas implosions to continue?

Boro / Deckchairs / Goal Scorers / Distribution / Current Table / Form [last 12]

Hang on:
We`ve got the top scorer in the Championship and our goals are coming from all over.
We are far more solid upfront - not a one man team.
Muniz scored one against Watford [Defeat] and Cardiff [Defeat]. Without his goals we would have a GD of +7

On the other hand. The deckchairs have relied heavilly on Ellis Simms [7] whom we know has gone back to wherever he came from. Without him, they would be in the botrtom half of the table [16th]. Simms scored the late injury - time winner against Blackburn. That alone, would see them on 35 points. A lot of pressure is on Stewart to salvage games. We`ve scored 3 more goals than them [42 / 39] and conceded 1 more [33 / 32]. When you consider our for and against following that s**tshow of a start - we had conceded 21 goals before Carrick arrived and scored 19 [including 4 at Wigan].

They are thicker than whale spunk most of them. Call us mutants and we are insignificant. Their only acceptance is to hang on to there precious derby with Newcastle which really has no significance outside of Tyneside. Strange have they not been to Pallion its like war torn Hac. Anyway hope we win but as they won't be 100% up for it Tony will play it down for the simple folk on Queerside

The argument of “they do better than us because they care more “ falls apart when you look at our record against the mags . Our record against them is utter ***** .

You'd have thought that a few years in the lower leagues would have given their following a bit of realism, maybe a bit of pragmatism.

But no. Once promoted, the old familiar arrogance and superior attitude quickly returned.
They genuinely think they should be some kind of top 10 Premier League side. They cannot get the idea out of their heads that big crowds simply must equate to success on the pitch, which aside from one win against the odds in 1973, they haven't had for well over 80 years.
Absolutely beside themselves with jealousy over Newcastle, and to a lesser extent ourselves, they're the probably the biggest set of fantasists south of Gateshead.
