Maccarone in the Championship

How would Massimo have done for us in the Championship?

I think he would have been more than good enough, but might have struggled with the physical aspect of it
 
Poor finisher, poor in the air, didnt have much football intelligence and quite weak. Seeing him for italy u21's he looked quite the opposite.
If he hadnt of scored a couple of goals in key games he wouldnt be remembered so fondly.


Although he did score them important goals so is a boro hero and rightly goes down in folklore but i think he would struggle in the championship.
 
Championship is a lot stronger now than when Massimo played. As much as I love him for the Uefa heroics, I don't think he'd pull up trees.

Would rather have Nemeth.

nemeth was a really good player shame for him he had some fantastic strikers ahead of him. In other years would have been our best forward.

Forss reminds me of him a little.

I know. But if Nemeth wasn't our best striker that year, who was? Job? He was extremely hit and miss as well. Wouldn't class Juninho as a striker.

Personally I found Nemeth frustrating. Not bad, but not consistent. Same as Massimo and Job really.

From memory, and I might be wrong, Nemeth used to generally do better coming off the bench getting at tired defenders. A very skillful player though.
