Luton

In good form too and only 3 points behind us. I'm minded to be more wary of them than Sheffield United now. They certainly don't excite, but know how to get the job done.

Looking at their fixtures, their run in looks similar to ours - some tough matches (us, Millwall, Blackburn) but lots of winnable games.

If it wasn't already - game at Kenilworth Road will be massive.

I agree, they're a threat. I was talking to a Luton fan last night. They're not conceding, grinding out results, and could easily become part of the automatic promotion race if nerves start to tell and us and Sheff U slip up. I'd like to see them go up with us. Good loyal fans, been through some tough years, have over-achieved on a scant budget, and some family on wife's side are season ticket holders. Hopefully, we'll get second and they'll come upvia the play offs...

Let’s not underestimate ourselves though, if they are grinding out 1-0 wins, it shows they are tight at the back and not free scoring, could they hold out against our pace and quick passing, even at Kenilworth Rd, remember the recent additions of Archer and Ramsay have added another dynamic again. Our most troublesome games now are Burnley at home and Luton away but I think we at least draw both.

We'd be fools not to respect what they've done on a tiny budget.

While they've been on a great run, we've still been 3 points better than them over the last 8.

Over 90 minutes, they can beat us. Even if that happens, I think they'll draw 1 or 2 more matches than us which, in this context, will be decisive.

I quite like the thought of the PL elite going to Kenilworth Rd though.

I’d add Norwich (H) to that list, we have 3 difficult games remaining for me.

Lets just hope we dont get a similar result to what another ex Man U player got in his 1st season as Boro manager at Kenilworth Rd. Was it realy 28 years ago?

Same outcome of end of season position would be ok though

We're focused on automatic promotion now, but keeping half an eye on the playoffs is just prudent.

I'd much rather face Luton, Millwall and Blackburn than Norwich, Watford and WBA.

Recent ex-PL teams tend to lift themselves in the playoffs.

As for tough games, I agree those 3 will. But they've got to play us. We'll win at least 1 of them, and I'd be disappointed with2 defeats in the others.

Burnley are three wins away from automatic promotion. We are their third game at the riverside.. then they play Sheffield at Turf moor the game after that.

Sheffield, Middlesbrough & Luton are all vying for that 2nd place spot.. Sheffield are having a right wobble, we are making waves but Luton have a great run of games coming up.

Us or Luton for that 2nd spot now I think Sheffield have lost the plot. Blackburn are defo in the playoff mix but with arguably that hardest set of fixtures to come. Their FA Cup quarter final against Sheffield will be interesting.

6th Place looks tight with Milwall looking comfortable.. might they swap with Blackburn even?

If Milwall or Blackburn drop out we have Norwich, West Brom, Coventry and dare I say Sunderland snapping at their heals. 5 points separate 6th and 10th.

2nd place is between us and Luton now.

Boro/Luton
Sheffield
Milwall
Blackburn

Boro/Luton in the final against Sheffield/Millwall..

Final will be Boro vs Sheffield or Luton vs Millwall

Boro win or Luton win

Burnley, Boro & Luton to be promoted

A seven point defecit over 10 games, with an inferior GD is too much for Luton I think.

Four points, with a superior goal difference is another matter, but still a tough ask for us nevertheless.

I can see it going to the final game before its decided.
