Luton Hoof Ball

Fair play to them.
They totally bullied and bossed Sunderland last night, not pretty to watch, but very effective and direct, on their narrow pitch.

Whoever plays them in the final (not tempting fate ;)), the instructions against them, "must not concede any corners or silly free kicks where necessary*
Then use the advantage of the wide pitch, and pass them off the park!!

We had it with Pulis, despite having some good players. It was terrible to watch, absolutely awful.
I've given thought to this before now and aside from being an awesome entertainer, it was no wonder Adama got us all out of our seats under Pulis. Aside from the goalkeeper position being unchanged we had 9 outfield players playing the absolutely turgid anti-football of cloggers and 1 exhibition type player racing around the pitch like roadrunner, dribbling the ball in and around around a procession of opposing players as he went.

Fu(k me, what a contrast, no wonder there was a roar whenever he got the ball.

Luton are like our side of that period. Only without an Adama player, worse (or better🙄) at kicking lumps out of the opposition. And more cheaty.

What's most frustrating looking back on that time is that we had some very good footballers at the club.

I can remember we played some good stuff under him during the season when we made the play-offs, and we were playing good football early on the following season, when we had Britt and Braithwaite up front. It all changed after we brought Hugill in of course.

In fairness to Luton, it's understandable they play the way they do when you look at the type of players they have. If they'd tried playing free-flowing football this season they would have finished nowhere near the play-offs. Bloody awful to watch though.

Yes definitely the 3-0 win against Leeds at home was probably the highlight.
