Low flying Jet plane

Anyone else just hear a low flying Jet? I'm in Eaglescliffe... Heard them before but this was really loud!

Living near Helmsley you get sick of F15's, Euro fighters and Hawk trainers up above us all the time, some days they are out at 22:00 hrs

An RAF jet has declared an emergency over Newcastle at 22,000 feet, could be a connection ?

There is a Hawk kicking about and a few Falcons from Teesside... just routine training in the North Sea then they practice QRA escort on the way back.
The noise you heard is the Hawk going OTT and opening the throttle

there's something going on - the big one is USAF, the smaller green one is an RAF Phenom at only about 2250 feet and the yellow one is from Cobham Aviation Services which are usually involved in search & rescue and it's only at about 500 feet and less, which is pretty darn low

G-FRAW Is a Falcon 20 for Cobham... they play the aggressor for the RAF / NAVY / USAF to train against and are based at Teesside as I said above.. they are not SAR.

ZM337 is a embraer Phenom... Its used for crew training and has been a busy boy today flying around the country for flyovers at a few civilian airports.

62 - 3551 Is a USAF KC 135R Stratotanker

There are is a major multi service training exercise on at the mo... if you go to Leeming you can see the Swiss A/F have a bunch of F18's

its all scheduled to continue until the 18th December

I saw a jet, no idea which one, quite low down and banking - no idea where it is exactly but seems like what you're saying about training exercises makes sense!

Thanks, interesting to get a bit of background and what you say makes sense. Cobham do get involved in SAR though, it is one of their areas of operations, which is why I thought on the back of Vespa's that something may be amiss and was connected

Having worked and flown with Cobham in the past I have never heard of them doing SAR. Their main role is Electronic Warfare followed by Practice interceptors for Fighter Controllers at Boulmer or Scampton as either fighters or targets for QRA practice. Neat bit of kit and what they do is top notch.
