In my old house in Stockton there was quite a decent boarded loft, with a light fitting and no trusses in the way (it had them but they were steeply angled and lot of open space) despite being a 2 bed terrace I feel like the loft was bigger than what we have now
I hated it though as it was creepy - not sure what the previous owners used it for but there was a home made doll nailed to the top beam and a kids dart board, and two plastic bins with crayons in. I can only presume that, for some reason, they let their kids play up there? It was definitely a loft - not a converted bedroom type job, so quite weird, but the doll was straight out of a horror film and I was never ever touching that looking at its face
Today we are having our loft part boarded and topping the insulation up, so over the weekend we are emptying out all the rubbish that was left up there, we'd seen some flat pack boxes, and general tat when we moved in but never bothered with it
Anyway turns out it was an unused kitchen, no good to us as old fashioned looking and probably not perfect Nick after being stored in a loft, but full carcasses, 2 work tops, drawer fronts etc. absolutely knackered carrying it all down.
And then this hand made leaving card from 1977 (house built in 1999)
Like why store that in the loft? Not in a box or anything - just laid on top of the insulation.
