Lockdown crew

On the morning after Hancock threatens more Draconian national lockdowns in winter, whilst the NHS continues to not return to normal I read that Denmark now is running at more deaths per million than Sweden. Where's my lockdown crew at, @bear66 , @Billy Horner, @SmallTown .. what are your thoughts?
I'm guessing we shouldn't compare countries now.

I have a relative who lives in Holland, but has been at his Swedish 'cottage' for the last 6 weeks. He can't get over how much the Swedes socially distance by choice rather than mandate compared with Holland. I am surprised that Sweden hasn't been taken off the travel list as it is very close to the UK in terms of cases and deaths. Denmark is much lower per million population than either country. Denmark have announced 3 deaths thi week, less than Sweden per head of population.

Hmm I may be wrong about my claim, let me check out what I read and get back to you. 👍🏻

You might be right Alvez looks that way over the last 7 days according to Our world in data, although both are are now at a very marginal number & Denmark has been tracking that number for around the last 3 months

Ye it's splitting hairs really @Decent_Left I retract my claim and apologize for posting it.

Was just super frustrating to see Hancock threaten another national lockdown
He won't do it. There's too much push to get people back to work and boost the town centres economy. He needs to get a grip with care home testing and personal care testing though.

Not at all, It was worth highlighting how the Swedish outlier is now matching the general Nordic situation.

Totally agree with you on Hancock, the man appears to have actually learnt nothing over The last 8 months.

You got out of bed the wrong side this morning Alvez. I am with Bear I cannot see a generalised lockdown happening again. If we succeed in getting track and trace running consistently, we shouldn't have the need for a generalised lockdown, which I think we all thought was what should have happened first time around.

Isn't the move to a more focused lock down? Appears to make more sense and easier to enforce.

I think that is the idea buffalo, but it does depend on accurate track and trace, if it starts to get away from the government during the winter, who knows what they will do. They will be very averse to lockdown again, I am sure.

Sweden was caught out in the care homes early on and had quite a problem in the BAME communities of Stockholm (Somali's especially) early on (they have much larger immigrant populations than their Nordic neighbours). They also had a much larger initial infection rate brought in by people holidaying in Lombardy. They seem to have got on top of things now and have stuck to their initial strategy in the face of all manner of ill-informed criticism in the media ... they set their stall out for the long haul and appear to be in a reasonable place now. Schools are back and people have returned from their holidays, all without a significant impact on infections/deaths. In both Norrbotten and Vasterbotten (which make up a large portion of the country geographically) they have no cases in hospital.

Giesecke's predictions appear to have been more or less spot on. Countries that locked down very severely have had a difficult time coming out of lockdown.

Not a chance we get another full scale lockdown, expect its a threat to try to get people to behave. Expect we will see a lot of local lock downs over the winter though

Track and trace is no where near happening or being successful

Why would he have a solution?
He's vehemently anti lockdwon. Very strong on the subject. I naturally assumed people that have such a strong opinion about one solution can think of a better way, in this case of slowing down the virus. I'll wait.

He’s anti lockdown because of the deaths that will be caused by it.

the nhs is not fully operational yet.
