Local removal/storage firm recommendation

Has anyone got experience of a local company for house removal, ideally with some intermediate storage time so we can clear out some stuff now and have it moved at a later date?

I'm willing to do my back in before Xmas!

When we moved in 1966 (council exchange) my mam used Devereux, who are still operating.

It was before we had a phone and dad was working away, he came back to see a different family in our house.

Richardson Removals in Preston farm were always spot on for me.

I would never use them again. We had a number of items ‘liberated’ by them. Not to be trusted.

Richardson’s however are fantastic. Used them in three moves.

Blimey! Luckily the stuff we want storing isn't valuable/irreplaceable.

We used Devereux for cub camp in the seventies, thirty odd small kids sat in the back on top of the tents. They probably don't offer that service these days.

I think this stopped because they changed the wagons from a drop tailgate with a roller style top to hinged doors which meant you couldn't leave the back open to let any air in.

I moved from Middlesbrough to Sunderland last November and then again within Sunderland in Feb. This involved putting a houseful if stuff into storage. Hired a van and rented a shipping container at U Hold The Key at Portrack. Saved hundreds of pounds, probably a couple of thousands over the two moves.
