I'm not one for caling for the managers head but we've seen other managers go for less.

Michael protects his players - which is understandable, but its not working behind the dressing room door.
This is the biggest test for Carrick and his staff so far.
Got to be sorted.
Carrick needs to stay, but the club need to put some money where their mouth is.
You can't build a promotion-winning side out of a skip full of spare parts.

I'm still giving him a free pass this season, the change of staff and injuries haven't helped, we'd have done nothing in the playoffs this season anyway.

Next season is huge for the manager and the recruitment team, same again the start of next season then sadly he should be gone by Xmas which will mean big questions for recruitment too.

This season is ending abysmally.

For me, the main problem with us right now is that Carrick wants to play in a positive way (and I don’t criticise that) but we just don’t have the quality to deliver it. Carrick has played highest level with elite players his whole career. He’s trying to impose the same tactics on a group of players, where most are just not good enough to pull it off. The obvious examples playing out from the back. Couple that we have some lower Champo/league 1 standard players trying to play that way - and a loss of almost all firepower up front, compared to last season - and it’s a recipe for disaster.

I honestly believe Carrick will go on to be a top manager but while we don’t have the players to effectively play his system, he needs to change things up. In parallel, and probably of more importance for next season, we seriously need to improve the quality of our squad to meet Carricks playing objectives.

This is so f obvious and basic that if it doesn’t happen, club people need to be getting held accountable.
