Liverpool signing Cody Gakpo

I'll wait until they sign him, though not seen anything to get to excited about yet, a little cameo in one game at the world cup & that is it.. that said whenever I'd watched Haaland at Dortmund, he only ever looked average, if banging in a sack full of goals..

Big, strong, quick, can’t half finish. Was really impressed with him at the World Cup. Also very funny to see a Dutch player stolen from under Man U’s nose because of the Glazers slowly pulling out.

Fair play to Liverpool, I guess they needed a new forward with Diaz now out for the season but that’s six good players for three places with Salah, Firminho, Jota, Nunez, Diaz and Gakpo. They don’t mess about in the transfer market and are good at bringing in the best players from smaller leagues who fit the way they play and sometimes do well - and if they don’t, they don’t hang about.

I don’t think they can maintain the level like Man City have because Kloppfootball is exhausting and they don’t have the same depth, but they renew the squad quite a lot in smart ways. They’re very well run for a superclub, can see why Bellingham fancies it.

Will be interesting to see if he can handle the pace of the premier league and the lack of time on the ball. So many coming out of the Eredivisie struggle to adapt.

I thought it was common knowledge he prefers Real?

Yeah I’m not convinced by that, Marca is Real’s pet paper.

Just a feeling, but get the vibe from the media mood music that they’re quite confident he’s going to Anfield to be Henderson’s long term replacement. Was very cosy with Hendo and other Liverpool players at the World Cup, Klopp’s not been afraid to shower him with praise publicly. Then there’s the Klopp / Dortmund connection.

Would be a bit of a surprise move as he could take his pick of any club. But the talk around Bellingham and Liverpool definitely has some momentum and with Henderson’s age, it would be a good fit.

I think it will depend on Liverpools season, if they don’t finish top 4 which may be the case I think it could scupper the deal. Wouldn’t surprise me if City pipped them to him to replace Bernardo Silva whose been wanting to move to Spain for a while.
