Ours isn't the record either. It was at the time but I think Chelsea played 69 one year. They won the Europa League after dropping out of the Champions League and they didn't make the final of the FA or League Cups and they lost the final of everything else. Came 3rd in the PL.

I think the big deal about Liverpool is they have played in every possible game because they have got to the final of every competition they have entered. Obviously they could have played more if there were more replays etc. or they were in the Charity Shield, Super Cup and World Club Cups.
 
I know it's unusual to get to the final of every competition the enter, but our achievement, with a smaller squad was never given the accolades it deserved!
 
We got to the final of every competition we entered in 1996/97, so played every possible game.....so take that Liverpool!
