List of Tory Resignations

When asked on Peston last night this socially inept politician Braverman indeed suggested she is going to stand for PM even though she hasn’t actually resigned from his cabinet which led to a bizarre moment when the programmes political analyst didn’t know whether to cross her off the ministerial list.

Peston asked her what she would do and third and fourth on the list of her priorities were

Stop the Boats
End “wokeness” - a meaningless slogan of no actual substance. Like “levelling up”

I know its been said before and will be again, but impossible to distinguish satire from the reality at times with this lot.

So, his argument for not resigning is that he has a 14 million mandate. This is full on Trump insanity. A few thousand voted for Jonson as MP. The rest voted for the other 300 odd Tories.

He needs sectioning.
At least someone understands British politics! Well said. 25351 people actually voted for him. I wonder how many have buyers remorse?

It was said last night this “huge personal mandate” nonsense is delusional and plainly wrong. The Times leader this morning says as much too.
Post 239 of this thread said exactly this last night and couldn't fathom how this phrase isn't challenged more. It is absolutely ludicrous to claim you have a huge mandate personally. It is Trumpian 100%. b The ONLY mandate is for the party that won the election not any individual.

Yeah there is nothing personal about his mandate. The Tory party has a huge mandate at the moment but he really doesn’t

Welcome to post-truthism. His supporters are either too ignorant to realise otherwise or just hunker down and replay the bs of the clown king.

Admittedly the media could do more but presumably decline, in order to further stoke the divisions which in turn keeps their output relevant.

Would Boris even be elected in his own constituency if he called a GE?
It’s a good question. I’m not sure he would. It’s a fairly poor area yet with expensive housing. Levelling up would alienate them, the cost of living crisis most be crippling some of them. I can see him struggling

Think I'd seen somewhere during the VONC a couple of weeks back that he'd lose his seat, it was close but a loss I'm sure.

Johnson sends another resignation into the stands and prepares to raise his bat in celebration of a record breaking half century.
