Liam Rosenior

Absolutely crackers.

Can only assume that Hull went all in for promotion, which Rosenior failed to deliver.

Their owner's next appointment might show whether he's just utterly ruthless, or he's reacted under financial pressure after failing to make it to the money league.

Overly ambitious “outsider” owners who don’t really understand the game but want success yesterday

Thank god for Gibbo
Yes, it stinks of entitlement, not understanding English football, knee jerk reactions, and pettyness.

I think most fans would say Rosenior has done a great job there. But this is a very, very competitive league, and just throwing a couple of big name players doesn't always work. I mean christ look at Leeds squad and wage budget they have about a 60% chance of still being in this league next year.

Looks like I'm not the only one that thinks, Hull might have put themselves in a bad financial position by going large this season, might be one of those 10 clubs on the FFP brink that Gibbo talked about.

There is a real danger of Hull hitting an FFP issue, and/or becoming a Watford type laughing stock. Wouldn't be surprised to see Rosenior at a bigger better run club club like Southampton/West Brom/Norwich within 18 months

Great young manager. He's very highly thought of

So a really bizarre sacking. I think this will have a bit of John Eustace about it. They will bring in a 'name' and it will all go t*ts up.

Hull appear to be comfortably within FFP limits despite their spending.

I personally think he underachieved following the investment they made in January. This all aids Boro next season as they'll be starting their building from scratch.

I remember well the home and away match-day threads, where it was obvious he was doing a great job. His Management style, communication with players, team selection: all really good. It appears the owner believes that if they want a "top six finish" and don't get it, the Manager is off! No idea about the nature of football, about building a side, or about those being the aspirations of at least half of the Championship. I hope he finds a club similar to ours, with a Chairman who knows just a little bit about football and gives him time to build a side and get where he needs them to go. Flippin idiots who run clubs! He's too good for Hull, then.

He'll probably get loads of offers in the Championship but I wouldn't be too surprised if Birmingham try and get him.

Big club that *should* come straight back up from League 1, rich and ambitious owners, some good young players, and a nice new renovated stadium.
I'm really hoping that Mowbray is well enough to go again next season. Any news on the likelihood of that?

He does come across well when I've seen him interviewed, but looking at Hull's end of season form, it isn't that great at all especially considering the team that has been available.

3 wins in final 12 games is not going to endear you to a success hungry owner.

People are slating the decision but I feel he’s been overhyped for a while now, look at the squad at his disposal! Michael Carrick would have that side in the play offs comfortably.

He underachieved by a long way.

My Mrs' dad is a Hull fan so I always look out for their results and have been to the odd game on occasion.

I watched them on boxing day against Sunderland and they were very uninspiring. Just backwards and sideways football. Granted Rosenior got them their best league finish for a few seasons but I think 7th with the quality of players they had on loan is an underachievement. Be interesting to see what happens with FFP but they do have Jaden Philogene and Greaves to cash in on.

You’ll be accused of attention seeking by the troll @sledge

I totally agree they should have been comfortably in the play offs, Rosenior has no excuses really.

Total short-termism from the owners. Weren’t looking to build anything. Just throw money at it for a risky quick-fix and it’s backfired.

Crazily harsh decision. He would be a good choice for Sunderland
I could see Sunderland wanting him but hopefully he’ll stay clear. Trigger-happy owners like Wagner, Ilicali and Louis-Dreyfus each exhibit the same ridiculous incompetence which decently performing managers like Eustace, Rosenior and Mowbray nowhere near deserve.
