Lewis Hamilton. What a win.

Sensational drive

Lewis just beat the "Best of the Rest" driving a car that was slower in every practise session, out qualified him and his pole position lap was purple in every sector and his tyres were ten laps older.

There's been a couple of races recently where Lewis has driven superbly and overcome all odds. This one and towards the back end of last season in the rain. Can't remember which one it was.

That was special, no other driver on the grid wins from that position. Those two fighting like that in similar cars all season will be fantastic.

Just flicked through the sky one and ch.4 coverage the new ch.4 commentator needs to be more on the ball. SKY called the Verstappen overtake straight away, the ch.4 guy was unaware max had even left the track

Think you mean turkey. Track had recently been resurfaced and was super slippery even in the dry. Was wet on race day so was like driving on ice. Lewis proves time and again he can win in the wet and when he hasn’t got the best car but people still question his ability. 2018’s ferrari for example could be argued was the best car that season. But Lewis pretty much bullied vettel in to making mistake after mistake when going wheel to wheel.

Ha ha, that’ll teach you, I was out getting my jab so had to watch recorded. No way I was looking on here until I’d watched it, didn’t want to see a thread title like “How did Schumacher win that !!”
 
Max was cöck of the block all weekend, that must really have knocked his end in.

I think he took too much out of his tyres too soon in the last stint, but then he had to make the ground up.

Turkey was insane. Lewis is 7th. Look up a few minutes later and he's comfortably first. Genius of a drive from a truly great driver. Yesterday prove it again. Despite his dodgy diff Max had a faster car outright and a faster car and tyres at the end

Maybe it would help for future races if threads like this were titled something like ‘Lewis Hamilton. What a win (Spoilers be careful)’
 
Yeah I was carelessly flicking through fmttm in an advert break whilst watching the highlights when I saw this thread. Turned the race off. I should know better. To be honest I just can't get into it these days anyway, it was boring me. Don't think the sport really suits highlights. You can't get the ebb and flow of the race.

Was a great win, strategy was perfect from Mercedes. Max said it best in one of his post race interviews, track position is king and Mercedes had it when it mattered. Lewis is a wall when driving defensively, its been so long since he's had to do it I think some forget but some of those seasons with McLaren he was pulling off drives like this regularly sometimes just for a podium. really excited for this year, shame the Alpine is not up to scratch a Riciardo, Alonso, Lewis Max battle would have been one for the ages. As it is Max Vs Lewis should be a show, I expect they will come together at some point. Probably Spa or Baku

Should be great. I can see Perez being a better wing man than Botas when he gets going.

I think you're spot on. He's just more consistent than Valteri. It's weird isn't it formula 1. Perez is one of the best drivers put there currently. Yet he's still only good enough to play point guard for his team mate.
