Level playing field for Boro next season?

The scenario.

1) Leicester, Leeds and Southampton get promoted and take their parachute money with them.
2) Sheff. Utd., Burnley and Luton come straight back down.
3) All three lose any decent players they may have signed permanently or on loan.
4) None of the three owners wish to 'have another go' (we know Sheff. Utd. is a basket case).
5) Boro have some headroom in its P&S figures and Gibbo 'goes for it'.

Here's hoping 🙏

I don't want to throw a spanner in your works but Everton will come down instead of Luton. Everton find out about their appeal tomorrow over the points deduction and also have another one hanging over them. A defeat to Palace tomorrow night and things could be looking bad for them.

Yeah, its odds on next seasons Championship will be a bit more of an even field.

There's a chance Sheff Utd might do a Sunderland and go down to league 1, they're apparently financially fckud. Archer will be the first off their books.

They will have £48 million compared to our £12 m from central disribn.

He's not in the squad today for Sheff U and no mention of an injury very strange to not have him available if he is fit, what a waste of a player.

I hope next season will be a more level playing field, because this season hasn't been easy .....

Despite yesterday's heroics... we are..

34 pts behind Leicester City
25 pts behind Leeds Utd
23 pts behind Southampton

22 pts behind Ipswich, without parachute payments?

They’re likely to have a transfer ban if relegated

If Everton go down I can see them being a team that struggles with adapting to the Championship, and being there much longer than they anticipated. Unlike the 3 teams that went down this season.

The way the parachute payments work could see the three that come down more or less go straight back up for ever as the rest of us cannot compete with the money.

I don't see blades competing next year. Any quality they have (and it is very limited) will be off and even without the financial problems their recruitment hasn't been great.

And they might have to play the first few games with Wilder in charge. Karma huh?

Archer will be back at Villa. The deal to send him to Sheffield Utd has a clause that if they’re relegated they have to buy him back.
