bull**** letter from Simon Clarke today containing lots of lies.
Letter on House of Commons notepaper and in a House of Commons envelope and no doubt "post" paid for by House of Commons as well.
So basically I/we (taxpayers) are paying for the letter.
Do all candidates standing in the election get this option or is it just the standing Tory.
72,000 people in my constituency, so say approx 36,000 households, are they all getting this letter.
That is a lot of money paid for by you and me, the taxpayer.
That is just Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland constituency.
Is it nationwide?

I do think he will struggle to get back in - the Brexit voting effect has gone which helped him in 2017 and 2019. His Constituency contains a lot of low income areas, i.e. most of Ormesby, Park End, Berwick Hills, Loftus, Brotton, Skelton, Carlin How, Skinningrove etc - people who rely fully on public services, many who will be receiving some State help. A lot of ex services who would not have voted for Corbyn but may for Starmer.

Annex: Rules for the use of House of Commons stationery

Principles for the use of House of Commons stationeryThe House provides a cash limited amount of stationery and envelopes for Members to use in their Parliamentary duties (see Annex for a definition of those duties).MPs may purchase further paper, but no further envelopes. Whatever the source of funding, stationery is not to be used in ways which would contravene the Code of Conduct or the rules on use of the Crowned Portcullis. Members must also comply with any relevant requirements of the Electoral Commission.Where stationery is separately funded through IPSA, IPSA rules apply. The principles for use of House provided stationery are as follows:a) The stationery is to be used for Parliamentary duties; it is not for outside business use.b) Members must be mindful of the Code of Conduct for MPs. In particular, paragraph 8 of the Code states that:“Excepting modest and reasonable personal use, Members must ensure that the use of facilities and services provided to them by Parliament, including an office, is in support of their parliamentary activities, and is in accordance with all relevant rules.”c) The stationery is not to be used for party political campaigning.5 Party political logos or emblems may not be used on House stationery.d) Each allocation is personal to the Member concerned, and unused stationery cannot be transferred to another Member.6Any allegations of breaches of the rules may be investigated by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards.Advice on the application of these rules can be sought in the first instance from the Customer Experience and Service Delivery team, and, if necessary, from the Clerk of the Journals.7Under the Guide to the Rules, a Member who has sought and followed advice from the appropriate authority on a course of action (in respect of the stationery rules), so long as they have provided adequate information for that advice to be relevant, will not have acted in breach of the rules in respect of that action.Annex: definition of an MP’s dutiesThere are many aspects to an MP’s role. These include

Apart from breaking clear rules prohibiting the use of HoP Stationary being used for campaign purposes.......

So let's be "Conservative" about the number of houses in his constituency - 72k people, say 20k houses (🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️) £1.35 for a first class stamp - that's £27k clearly breaking rules......

The Tories/Daily Fail are going mental about Angela Rayners £1500 Capital Gains "thing"....when she wasn't even an MP (she was our UNISON Rep at the time).

🤔🤔

Compare, contrast, evaluate........FFS 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

When I saw the title I thought he actually responded to a letter you sent. I have contacted him and Houchen in the past and none of them have responded wouldn’t care but I didn’t expect them to respond personally. I know they have staff todo this but even they aren’t interested.
Blokes a parasite who has done nothing for his area. The sooner he goes the better.
