Lennon or McCartney?

One of the best descriptions of Lennon I heard was "notorious sourpuss", which seems to be the general opinion of his contemporaries. On a personal level I had to followspot both of them when I worked on Let It Be, kind off depended which John or Paul was on that night!

Personal opinion - Paul wrote the best of the Beatles songs but overall John was a better writer. Paul’s songs were either brilliant or pretty bad. Johns were generally better but didn’t hit the heights of the best of Paul’s

Their best work was together, after the Beatles neither did much of note

I wish that Paul would retire gracefully. His voice went years ago and it's just embarrassing seeing him perform these days. Lou Reed should have done the same thing back in the nineties.
I’m looking forward to seeing him sat in his piano chair at Glasto drowned out by his backing band. He can then concentrate on putting his thumbs up to the masses and jabber on about the lay lines.

But seriously I’ll give him a miss.

Couldnt think of anything worse:oops:

His best for me

George Harrison was the best Beatle
then it goes..
Mal Evans,
Yoko Ono,
George Martin
Billy Preston,
Stuart Sutcliffe,
Paul McCartney,
John Lennon,
then Ringo Starr

I’m just saying one person not liking something is a personal choice you can’t say a song that popular is -

one of the 10 worst songs ever written

It’s a ludicrous comment.

I can’t stand simply red but lots of people do like them. It’s subjective.

Imagine is one of the most iconic songs of all time and to say Lennon in his short time had remaining did nothing of note after leaving the Beatles is just bizarre.

I can, and I did, it's dreadful and the video even worse.

I'd argue that a group of Observer / Guardian readers is NOT "the rest of the world".
