yeah could be true I have no idea tbh but always treat even reliable sources with a pinch of salt unless the club has made an official statement about the Ipswich bid which I doubt they ever would. However, will wait and see how it all pans out hopefully we get a good fee if he does leaveIt was £21.5m from a reliable source.
We would have accepted had it not been so late.
Record fee for MLS18 million upfront + 4 million in add ons according to Keith Downie
I believe (from various random sources on here and online elsewhere) that the Ipswich offer was £12-14 million rising to £18-£20 million if all clauses were met. The Atlanta offer is nearer £18 million upfront. How can we accept $22m when we turned down £20m in the summer?!
That injury has made it look a better deal to me. Once a player reliant on blistering pace like LL starts pulling up like that with no contact it might be a slippery slope. With our injury luck I doubt we'd see the best of him for this season anyway. Was always going to happen, just a bit annoying it's happening 3 days before the deadline. If he's crocked for a month or so then tbh it makes much more sense to sell him now.
Glad he's going to the MLS so we don't have to watch him doing well in this country, wouldn't surprise me if he's back in a year or two though.
1 is turn up for pre seasonSurely his addons will be much easier to meet in the MLS than in the premier league, appearances, goals, top goal scorer etc
