No I get that and it’s clear starmer has turned the party around I’m just highlighting how difficult it is to unseat a sitting pm as even now with all that we know it’s still so close.Zorro, I think you misunderstand the position Labour were in after the election in December. The swing you see above has never happened in my living memory and I don't expect it to happen again.
A 20 point swing in 9 months is absolutely huge and most political commentators were't expecting Labour to catch the tories until late next year, if at all. Do you recall statements like "That's Labour done for the next 2 decades!" and similar.
Do not underestimate the swing you have seen it is huge and significant.
If there was an election tomorrow Labour would walk it, brexit or no. Lots of people will double down on their decision at the last election rather than face the stark reality of what they have done. When it comes to placing your cross, in secret on a ballot paper, that 40/40 split would go Labours way.
I’m delighted as well just surprised the faith some still have in this regime.K' Zorro, my view is different to yours then, I am delighted where Labour are right now.
Mess up brexitTo be fair and I say this a Labour voter that is pretty damning as look at the complete and utter shambles we have in power how they have mis handled this and other crises.
it makes you wonder just what boris has to do to lose the mass support of the nation.
Totally agree with this. Almost like it doesn’t matter what they do I’ve picked my side and I don’t care. It’s crazy. It shows an astounding level of support for Johnson given his performance, and a massive mistrust of Labour in key areas.
I think there is still a large element of people who picked a side and not wanting to admit they were wrong.
I don’t agree labour would walk it, too many people wanted brexit and while that is still on the table to come out then the tories would continue to winZorro, I think you misunderstand the position Labour were in after the election in December. The trouble is zorro, that with the electorate becoming so polarised due to Brexit, people who support Johnson due to him “Getting Brexit Done” rather than the Tory Party itself, would still support him if he was killing babies! To be fair and I say this a Labour voter that is pretty damning as look at the complete and utter shambles we have in power how they have mis handled this and other crises.
