Late away points

Walking back to the car yesterday got me thinking “that never happens to us”. Grabbing a point or a win with a last winner goal. In fact apart from a previous draw v Southampton 20 years ago where we got 2 injury time goals to draw, I could not off the top of my head think of any other occasions we had done it.

For myself, I remember (again off the top of my head) being present and the deflation of being at Leeds when Becchio scored late on NYD, Billy Jones grabbing Preston an equaliser, Kenwynne Jones winner at the SOS, Watford scoring a 94th minute winner, and Stoke getting an injury time equaliser last season. It just made celebrating yesterdays goal so much sweeter.

What other 90+ goals have we scored away from home?

We beat Norwich last season with a 92nd minute Crooks winner.

I suppose you could also say that Silvera's 92nd minute goal against Norwich this season was a late winner considering they scored in the 99th minute to make it 2-1.

Bloody hell, I’ve also just remembered my personal horror of being in the home end at Bramall Lane when Phil Jagielka scored an injury time winner for a previously winless Sheffield Utd in 2006. 🫣

Massimo v Basel 2006

Surely someone else remembers that one. It was magnificent! 😎

Although not technically getting the points but putting us into semi final surely counts

It wasn't in injury time but rickets equalising at Tottenham after anderton scoring in the 2nd minute deserves an honourable mention

In terms of games I'd actually attended. I'd have to say my favourite 'limbs' moment was Watmore at Blackpool. Especially as they had just equalised. A full range of emotions in a matter of minutes. Also a massive away following.

Rhodes at Bolton was a massive moment in terms of automatic promotion.

The last minute winner at Mansfield in the Cup a couple of years ago.

It's the only away match I've been to that we've won in 5 years.

The rest has just been a constant stream of defeats, given up on going to them now as I felt like a jinx.

That was November 1998 mate. I was at that game. Mental.
Corrected. Yes I have vivid memories of that game except seemingly for the year it was played. . It was Paul Gascoigne’s best game for us. The chants of We’ve only got 9 men and you’ve only got 12 men (the ref was terrible) were great.

Me and my mate were on travel club as we were barely old enough to drive. Straight into town after the game. The good old days

2 versus Southampton when Redknapp took charge. Downing and Viduka from memory, both in injury time! 2 down to 2-2. I got a clip walking home for smiling too much :)
