So Hickton scored 24 in 69-70, but he scored 25 in 70/71, so I guess that's Akpoms next target to make it best Boro league goals in 52 yearsAh ok. Someone on here gave me duff info the other day then.
So as things stand, who last scored 24 league goals in a season for us? I know Slaven's best was only 21 (which he got twice I think).
The target after that would be John O'Rourke who got 27 in 66/67, which would be the best in 56 years.
These are both very achievable.
At a push he might challenge Alan Peacocks 31 goals in 62-63, but that'll take some going. 31 would be the joint best since Cloughy in 60-61 with 34 (cloughy's worst season!) AND would mean only Camsell, Clough, Fenton, McClelland and Wilson had scored more in a season.
