Lady/Baroness 'Dido' Harding gets another job

Nothing can surprise me anymore with regard to the rank hypocrisy of the shower runnng the country.

As the talk talk fiasco proves, she doesn’t just waste her gross incompetence on public sector jobs.
Also, and I just found this out, probably responsible for Cheltenham festival going ahead this year and all the disease and death that brought.

what a disgustingly corrupt tinpot little country we live in

Her husband is John Penrose, Tory MP for Weston-super-Mare. Penrose is a key member of the advisory board of a right-wing Tory think tank called 1828.
This think tank argues Britain should scrap the NHS in favour of an insurance-based system. Sounds like the softening-up of British opinion before we sell our wonderful NHS to some US pirate health set-up.

1828 has also called for the abolition of Public Health England, which has a key role in the coronavirus test and trace system now headed by, yes, you guessed it, Dido Harding.
Harding’s first job was to get test and trace off the ground. Clearly, the world-beating app we had all heard so much about was the key part of test and trace.
It failed to test or trace at all and was quietly pushed aside to play a minor support role (ie, no role at all).

One reason the test and trace system didn’t work too well was because it isn’t run, as you might expect, by the NHS, but by Serco, the company that has become unbelievably rich from innumerable privatisations and public contracts.

Serco has built a strong reputation over the years for inefficiency, money-wasting and not worrying too much about breaking the law.
It has already illegally released the email addresses of some of its Covid-19 contact tracers.

Many working for test and trace describe it as chaotic, so how the government gave Serco the job is a mystery. Transparent process? Competitive tender? No.
Just as puzzling is how the woman Johnson calls Dido came to be in charge of the entire shooting match.

until the oxbridge shower are fairly pitched against others that have gained expertise in the real working world then these planks are going to continue to wedge themselves into positions of power and influence... I have experienced this personally sitting on boards that have oxbridge members with no experience in the real working world. Its gone on for decades .... I was lucky had a chairman and owner who appreciated and valued experience and down to earth decision making based on real working history and a knowledge of EMPATHY.. something a oxbridge virgin knows nothing ... I am from a secondary school. no A levels or university education, started working in factory (japan owned), learned production improvement techniques , leveled up skills, afer 1 year got to be a teamleader- then supervisor - eventually after 12 years production manager - and got up to operations director level looking after 6 plants.... can be done

I think she was also at Thomas Cook for a while

Don;t think she held that senior role there TBH, however she was in charge of Talk Talk when they got a record fine from the ICO for having around 157,000 customer details stolen.

They actually use her as a case study due to her first not knowing whether the data was encrypted and then saying that they were “not legally required” to do so, and that TalkTalk’s security was “head and shoulders better than some of our competitors.”

She also opposes maternity leave for mothers saying that they get too much time off work, despite taking it herself.

All in all she's a nasty piece of work, but that probably doesn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Serco's CEO is Rupert Soames, brother of Nicholas "Fatty" Soames, late of the Conservative Party, and grandson of Winston Churchill. And obviously a Tory. Coincidence, surely.

The corruption is getting so blatant these days it's not even laughable.
It does make you wonder when something blows up like the exam scandal just what else is not getting reported on.
Just how she can be given yet another gig so soon after heading up the pathetic, track and trace system that has quickly gone from a national effort backed up by "world leading app" to one that was clearly not fit for purpose and has now been passed onto local health authorities to manage. All the public funds that have simply disappeared into a nonexistant app, a huge workforce of undertrained call centre staff who's numbers have now been cut, none of that will be paid back.
Add in that you've got the invisible man fronting this shambolic, no it's actually a corrupt government, a government that condones and supports abject failure. Williams should have resigned, if not he should have been sacked, but just like with Cummings they've rounded to back him and done yet another u-turn. Why can't we have a competent government that doesn't tolerate failure or scandal, why do we have to put up with this lot who appear to think that they are above scrutiny and that they can have multiple do-overs?
Don't even get me started on the apparent apathy of our voters who should be up in arms that the government they voted in are literally spitting in their faces on a weekly if not daily basis.

UK has deteriorated into a corrupt kakocracy. Shyster Johnson and co. set policy and channel public money to themselves, their famililes and cronies to implement it. PPE, track and trace, brexit. All just opportunities to rob the public and enrich themselves. Hardy new for the Tories but now not even a nod to doing it in the shadows. Done in the full light of day.
