Labour poll 3 point lead

Some folk will say that Labour should be ahead given the current circumstances however this is a staggering turnaround in the last 6 months.

The only good thing about this is these scum Tories need a brexit deal and they know it
Now a strong opposition exists they have to please the middle ground Uk otherwise they’ll be toast if they get brexit wrong
Power comes above all else for them even including what’s good for the country but they are being stopped in their tracks when they see polling like this 👍👍

They should be further ahead if they were a decent opposition.
But in saying that who on earth still thinks this government is doing a good job? Madness.

If labour were led by a chicken wearing a rosette they should be well ahead of the Tories by now.

That's not a criticism of Starmer, more a sad reflection of the number of idiots in the country who incredibly would still vote Tory if there was an election tomorrow.

I think take things a while to change in politics. This is a fairly new government, slowly but surely the people who are political floaters are moving across.

Seems to me this lot are openly corrupt and dont care either. We the shower who voted for to thank for the deaths and bumbling mess we are in. Brexit next and big pay off time in November and December. Wilton site pay offs looming too.

'3 point lead' suggests another unpopular government. I can't wait.

The sooner Brexit is completed, the sooner the Tory party will sack Johnson.

32% still believe Johnson is right for PM. This is what we are up against.
Staggering

Big picture - 4 more years, nothing to worry about for the Cons.
When Johnson steps down they will get the Sunak bounce because he speaks and dresses seriously. That will trump buffoonery and they will all be led back to vote for them.

I think that some people are beginning to see that Johnson the Prime Minister is a very different character than the ‘Boris’ they voted for, the realisation that the act and the fact don’t really tally is becoming more apparent the more he’s exposed.

It’s unfortunate that at a time when we’ve needed a serious Prime Minister we’ve had a man playing the role who doesn’t fully understand the part, the expected knockabout Brexit narrative and Euro bashing has been superseded by the Covid crisis and whilst it would be difficult for anyone to govern in these circumstances it has shown how far Johnson is out of his depth when it comes to actual leadership.

I disagree with your first point. The government had a lot of goodwill at the start of the pandemic along with the election win, with a friendly media refusing to scrutinise MP's wheeled out to lie on a daily basis.

A popular bounce for Labour doesn't help in the long run, they need consistent gains that last and will result in votes. So far that's what they are doing but 4 years is a long time*.

*unless the Tory party implodes.

While I agree Labour are somewhat 'back in the game' now they've got rid of Corbyn, there's 4 years to go to the election - and I'd expect The Tories to regain the lead by then
I don't trust Johnson at all - and believe Cummings is pulling the strings - and don't believe they're chasing the middle ground eg the Ofcom/BBC appointments they are looking to make
