La Liga to start playing league matches in the USA.

I’m becoming more and more disillusioned with the game, to the point where I don’t care if we go up! Honestly what’s the point? Can’t compete.

39th game will definitely be top of the PL agenda next meeting, every £££ counts, hugely depressing if this is the future for the big European leagues

But surely we play too many games already? Think of the toll it would take on the players bodies!

I think you are right, by the way.

The difference is La Liga needs to do it. They are in a massive mess. The PL don’t need to do it, and with a new football regulator overseeing them it’s hard to see how they could ever do competitive games in America (or elsewhere).

The mighty Lewisham Borough are into the play offs and in the cup final! Last home game this Saturday if you're up to it.
I’m being thrown a ‘party’ of sorts at my other half’s family home this weekend after the past 2-3 weeks! Otherwise I would be there. I was hoping to see Maidstone in the NLS playoffs this weekend but that’s been scuppered as well.

I’m guessing we must live pretty close to each other? It’s a shame the season is almost done, I’ve been looking for very local games for ages and had no idea Lewisham Borough played ar the Ladywell Arena! Will definitely be going to watch them next season. The game this weekend is against Larkfield & New Hythe? I used to go swimming at Larkfield leisure centre in New Hythe. Torn allegiances.

Greedy basterds. I like the idea of winning promotion and not wanting to play in the premier league. It’s dull as dishwater, as is the so called ‘champions league’ which mostly consists of teams who aren’t champions.
VAR has sucked the joy out of the game, look at the semi final last week. Football is ****ed, greed has destroyed it

I'm not especially pro this idea - but I am also less against it than others are when it comes up.

I've always been massively pro the good sides of globalisation. When I was 8, I wrote an article dreaming of a single federal Europe in the future. Bringing together the best of all these places could surely only be a good thing.

I also care little for traditions and history. They are often best to learn from and forget as we should use opportunities to progress.

I do think there I'd something amazing about our football Pyramid, but it is not perfect.

I've got family and friends that have loved going to the UK NFL games. I do not massively begrudge the US the opportunity to watch competitive football games if there is a good way to do it.

Barcelona are in a massive mess. Is the league itself or any of the other clubs? I thought it was actually the opposite. They’re mostly in good shape because of La Liga’s stringent financial rules but aren’t able to compete with Premier League clubs for wages. But then who can, apart from Saudi Arabia.

We must do. Ladywell station is my local station, Lewisham Borough my local team.

The Arena is a football hotbed. Lewisham share it with Forest Hill Park - interlopers from along the south circular!

It's a good game and helped by the fact you can shout Come on Boro and Up the Boro, in fact it's encouraged. Very active on the socials so easy to follow if you miss the games (which I often do).

I've had a season ticket for the last couple of years and it's come on leaps and bounds. Crowds were below 20 or so when I first went in 2021 but now the record is 100+.

I will see you there next season!
