When it all goes completely T*ts up over winter, they'll be calling the NHS chiefs Captain Hindsights...ignoring the fact they are imploring measures such as mask wearing now, but the government is ignoring themThe government's covid response has been excellent and no, I won't recommend wearing masks.
Christ on a bike
This entire administration (if you can call it that) is simply a collection of baffling soundbites. It does seem that the agenda from government has little to do with infection rates.
They can't actually be this stupid which only leaves playing to an audience as the reason behind the baffling soundbites.
Lockdown in the New Year thenKwarteng has also ruled out another lockdown this morning, which is nice of him.
000s of preventable deaths, the care home disaster, millions wasted on crap ppe bought off their mates...and still ahead in the pollsIt does seem that the agenda from government has little to do with infection rates.

They are trying to play the long game, in that I mean leaving it as late as possible towards Christmas to accounce measure that mess up the plans that everyone has made. Unlike the Johnson's of course who will still entertain friends and stick two fingers up to the rest of us.
I think they're trying to take the middle ground between the 'libertarians' in their own party who want no restrictions on people's activity and those who are warning about not doing so.Why would they do that, why do you think they want to ruin peoples plans ?
I'm no fan of the tories, but can't see the motivation for this.
Great post000s of preventable deaths, the care home disaster, millions wasted on crap ppe bought off their mates...and still ahead in the polls
I think we can safely assume any decision made by this government now on this matter will be based upon what will upset their base the least, rather than the protection of those they are supposed to serve
They have obviously taken then view that for that base, a broken NHS and a few 000 extra dead is more palatable than being forced to wear a mask in Tesco
I'm not sure what we have become

It's not about doing anything really; it's more about telling everyone they're doing a great job.
I was being facetious, apologies. There does seem an inevitability though, even if not pre-planned.Agreed, but the poster was suggesting their decisions are motivated by wanting to ruin peoples Christmas plans - maybe I just read it wrong.
This! You can sense something in the air with the media reports and then the denial from the government that anything is wrong. There does seem an inevitability though, even if not pre-planned.
