Kids Shirt Fitting

I'm looking to order my son (an average sized 8 year old) the new kit online (we can't get to the club shop to try on), could anybody give me a bit of advice on what the kids shirts fit like? As in previous years, a size 7-8 would often be much better suited to a 5 year old.

It's also pretty odd that the kids sizes come in XS, XXS, YXS & 2YXS. I am thinking of going for the 'YXS' fit, unless anybody would advise otherwise?

I would get in contact with the shop if you can and ask them advice. Official Merchandise / Retail: 01642 929422

They seem larger fitting this season and the shorts are huge. My sons 7 and i got him:
top YXS 7-9 years
shorts 2YXS 5-6 years

hope this helps but maybe you could ask for measurements from the club shop save you having to send them.

My 11yr old, who is i think a normal kid, not fat, not skinny just a bit tall maybe but not a giant, he wears a small mens or he did last year same in his TJFA tops too. Yet there's kids he plays with who are really small who buy the kits to fit their "right" age and it drowns them. Sizing is mental, got no chance unless you try stuff on i don't think.

My son is 6 and i got him the YXS (7-9 years) and it's not that big on him. He's the tallest in the class but not the same size as an average 8 year old i wouldn't think. It's the right size for him now basically, i'd probably look at XXS, but then again that's supposedly age 10-12.

Just been to the club shop to get both of my kids one and the only kids size they have is for 13 year olds. All of the other kids sizes have gone. The kit has just came out! Unbelievable.

I pre booked mine for the grandsons and was told they'd sold out and I have to wait up to 10 days for them. How can they say they've sold out when I pre booked?

A member of staff at the club shop told me earlier that Errea 'have been a bit of a nightmare'. Doesn't sound promising especially after having a load of issues with Hummel. Maybe we should have just gone back to Adidas, we never seemed to have an issue with them. All sizes were always available and the kit/training wear was far superior quality to Hummel and Errea.

Mental to run out this quick, but the kit got absolutely battered on here, social media everywhere so they probably thought nobody was gonna buy it.

We always seem to run out of stock, don't know who picks the figures on how many of each size to order for the first run but they ALWAYS get it wrong.

Funny how we always have a problem with the supplier and it's always that Hummell/Errea are to blame. I think our amateur setup more than contributes. We never seem to be able to predict demand and either over or under order. The margins they are making there must be room to over order for an initial run and then adjust for subsequent runs but when I've heard them talk about things in the past it sounds to me like we make a single order and stick to it so if we run out we run out. Probably to get the cheapest price. Just seems like another place where we are extremely small-time as a club.

There is no way they should be running out of kit in the first week. If it was a supply issue then they should have delayed the launch until they could do it properly.

Agreed. I'm sure it's probably more complex than this, but, like, why don't we just keep an average total from the last say 5 seasons of how many kits were sold in each size, and just order that many..? I can't imagine this seasons shirt has massively sold more than we have usually in the first week on sale  happy to stand corrected however.
