Ken Loach expelled from the Labour Party

Also it takes roughly 6 months for any lapsed membership to show up, even those who've been kicked out of the party. So likely even lower than the 420k.. there's literally no-one signing up and tonnes leaving.. shambolic by any measure.

It was from an article in the Times on 21 July 2021 and widely reported elsewhere. Great news that over 80,000 new members have joined in 6 weeks. Hopefully they have now halted the redundancies caused by their precarious financial position.
I doubt that many have joined. It goes to show we have to be very careful when accepting data. I am not sure which is right.

I am not arguing With you. But I don't know why it says over 500,000 on labours front page, you think they would know.

Having membership greater than all other parties collectively is an odd shambles.

They paid out in the Panorama case that their lawyers advised they would have won.
It should never have been an issue. The Labour party sued for a hate crime. A labour MP frightened to go to a Labour Party conference, Margaret Hodge outing anti seminism, the Mural was lazy politics.

I know you think it's all BS, that there are Jews who supported Corbyn but a lot did not.

But can I say it again Labour sued for a hate crime, it hurts.

Margaret Hodge outing anti seminism,
Margaret Hodge is a two faced liar. In the days before the right of the party wanted rid of Corbyn she wrote this:

Hodge and Corbyn clashed over a proposal to sell off a Jewish graveyard to property developers for building land. Hodge's group were in favour of this sale but Corbyn's team opposed it because it was sacrilegious to orthodox Jews. Corbyn's lot won and the land didn't get sold.
If you want to know more about Hodge, do a little googling about her turning a blind eye to child sex offences in a children's home in her council area. Sickening.

So who do you believe, the BoD right wing Jews who have nothing to do with Labour or the left wing jews some of whom joined the party before Starmer was born.
But can I say it again Labour sued for a hate crime, it hurts.
Didn't go to court and Labour's lawyers advised that they would have won. Starmer didn't want that to happen.

You win. There again reading the following I am not sure.

The redundancies are directly linked to Corbyn and/or his handling of anti semitism.

We lost 59 seats, that equates to losing £1m in public money due to OOTLOTO completely misunderstanding the electorates priorities.

£2m to be paid in settlements and fees for defamation by Corbyn's office towards the whistleblowers on racism in the party. Milne and Corbyn were told they'd win the cases, maybe it'd have been better to tackle the issue rather than attack the victim. Completely unbecoming of a political party let alone the Labour Party....the workers party an all that....

Mclusky, Corbyns great mate, cut party funding by £150k because he said he it was unfair it be spent on the settlements and rejecting their validity.

Outstanding legal claims against the party made during Corbyns tenure which will require further settlement.

Cheers Jeremy.

Anyway, there won't be any compulsory redundancies so there won't be any strike action. The unions are happy with voluntary redundancies it seems.....

'So who do you believe, the BoD right wing Jews who have nothing to do with Labour or the left wing jews some of whom joined the party before Starmer was born'......

It's not right wing or left wing Jews. Its just jewish people who are at the receiving end of anti semitism. Racism doesn't differentiate based on the victims political persuasion.

Even if it did there are plenty, and easily the majority of Labour supporting or left learning jewish people, for whom the anti semitism was a first hand experience in online labour groups, at CLP level, conference etc. For example in 2019 the Jewish Labour movement had 2500 members. This is a an affiliated Labour group attacked by the hard left as having no place in the party due to it supporting Israels right to exist.

This peculiar victim blaming would only happen with anti Jewish racism because the perpetrators either don't recognise or understand anti semitism when they see it, willfully ignore it or just think it isn't even a thing as jewish people are privileged due to their largely white European background so can cope with a bit of anti semitism......In itself of course a classic left wing anti semitic trope.

Replace jewish with black or muslim people and all left wing liberal minded people would be up in arms and fully behind a zero tolerance approach. There'd be no looking for excuses, blaming the victims, telling the victims its all made up and so on........

Fortunately it's over. The irony of it all is that it took anti semitism in the party to bring together jewish people, practising and secular, of all walks of life(and political persuasions) across the country together in a reaffirmation of who they are and all that goes with it. For that at least they are grateful.

Anyway, moving on. It's two and a half years at the most till the next election.

It starts now really. As we come away, hopefully, from the pandemic the gloves can come off.

A clear and decisive social and economic policy starting with making the right noises at conference can go a long way to setting out the stall.

The tories are giving it on a plate by going after workers, being the brexit party and being completey useless and well nasty about just about everything. People who lent them their vote over brexit can come back now.

A carefully worded social care policy funded by a tax on high earners is brave but can be attractive to all. A patriotic yet inclusive line is needed.......it just needs to be clear and decisive and stuck too and argued well not preached.

It might not be enough unless Starmer becomes decisive on policy asap and gets a make over but it sets a path forward to the country trusting Labour again.

There are people on here where Corbyn is such a god he walks on water. He has never done a thing wrong in his life. He was right about the Mural, he was right about going to a PLO funeral, although to my knowledge never to a Jewish funeral, he was right about his opinion on Margaret Hodge, he is untouchable. Nothing more than a god.

Over to you Keir Starmer

Pressure grows on Starmer

You're all over the shop you SaB. Literally one post to the next you'll go from saying you don't care about factions and just want Labour to win, to slating anyone more left wing than yourself. 🤷‍♂️

SAB I have explained this before so you either missed it or are ignoring it but the mural showed four non Jews and two Jews - all real people - counting their profits on the back of the slaves. It cannot be used as evidence of anti-Semitism, more anti Capitalism.

Claim: Jeremy Corbyn laid a wreath at the cemetery in Tunisia where the 1972 Munich Olympics terrorists were buried. In fact, the wreath was laid at the Palestinian cemetery in Tunisia, which has a memorial to the victims of the universally condemned 1985 Israeli bombing of the PLO headquarters, many of whom were civilians.
The Munich terrorists are buried in another country, Libya. Corbyn was in the wrong country.
