Just Stop Oil protester punched and kicked

Yeah, I wasn't really listening when it was on, but all I knew was the sulphur bit was leading to less sun hitting the deck, but how you explain it makes sense.

What, you mean the CO2 came down as the sulpher was cut out, just effectively making the fuel cleaner overall?

A 5% cut is massive, if it's of all emissions.
The 5% cut was during lockdown and it was unrelated to clean diesel and all to do with lockdowns being enforced so no one was driving.

The article was in a science journal and was discussing global warming generally. The two bit's I found interesting were sulphur in diesel and how lockdowns and lack of international travel effected co2 emmissions.
I've just had a thought here, we could use the long-haul jets to seed things into the higher atmosphere, as part of the fuel maybe, to help form clouds or just block out the sun.

There's a big problem with this though, you would have all the chemtrail conspiracy nuts thinking they were right  Doing this wouldn't prove them right though of course.
The issue with this is, whilst sulphur isn't particularly dangerous, though you wouldn't want to rub it in you eyes, the oxides that can be created can be extremely deadly. I would assume that just about any substance in high enough quantities is bad for our respiratory systems.

Back to nuking the isle of wight, I say, or a space brolly

Ah yes, I remember that happening now (not covid, how could I forget that) about the emissions dropping from lack of travel and production.

Yeah, I didn't think Sulphur was "that" bad, but it's probably not doing any good either or good in massive quantities or if we keep increasing it. The knock-on "saviour" of global warming is probably like someone giving you £1 after taking £2.

Mr Burns had an idea of blocking out the sun, maybe he was onto something.

I suggested a brolly and it was toungue in cheek but not entirely nonsense.

Sunlight is unpolarised and we don't fry because the earths atmosphere polarises sunlight. If we introduce another layer to the atmosphere that further polarises sunlight we reduce the impact it has on the planet. It's entirely possible and expensive, I am sure. However it's an engineering problem so for someone else to figure out.

Why don’t they make a list of every product which uses oil in its production, (I think that could be everything) and write down as many alternatives that they can that uses less/no oil and make the changes there. I reckon ChatGTP could probably do that in a second!
