Just left the Town Hall.

I can't imagine why you would want to but the idea seems to be stressing you somewhat.
Cant see how you think that it is stressing me out EBD, maybe a slight overreaction as i only mentioned the that i can see loads of people who wont pay, try cramming it in other peoples bins. Other people have stated there will be fly tipping, are you going to quote them? but if i’m not allowed my views then fair enough i guess.

To be fair I’m surprised MBC still has weekly pick up and free garden waste. Must be one of the last to have it

In terms of knowing if you’ve paid, usually you get a sticker licence to stick on your bin
It’s not free garden waste, we already pay for the collection with our council tax. It’s going to be an extra charge.

Middlesbrough's recycling rate is a very poor 30%, only Stockton is lower locally.

Moving to fortnightly general waste will increase recycling, we hope to increase it to at least 35%.
Stocktons got a difficult system with a recycling bag for paper, plastic and cardboard and a box for glass bottles then a green bag for green waste. People want bins but there is a lot of houses that won't have extra space for more recycling bins and the cost is not insignificant for a cash strapped council, but more people would probably recycle if it was easier to do it.

That said I reckon we'd fill a standard bin too easily & we have two of the large sacks out often.

I'd have thought green waste would be slightly revenue generating as surely it's composted commercially?

If I remember correctly im sure mbro started with the green bags, then moved on to the bins? I may be wrong. Sure it was around the normal bin size was reduced and recycling ones arrived.

Yes that’s right. Probably nearly 10 years ago now. Prior to the change, our “Green” bin was the only wheelie bin and was for general waste. I remember being outraged that I had to store three bins, when in hindsight three bins is far easier than a bin, a bag and a box.

Needs must to the new changes.
