Just got back from York game.

As things stand and based on form in 2 games, Coburn and Kav would be up front against WBA. And Bilongo would be LCB.

For me McGree would be Left Mid.

Assuming the GK is nearly done, up front is looking very much where all the effort needs to be.

Watmore seems out of form at the moment.
Some team that would be 😢

Paddy is banned for the opener isn't he?

Don't think Tav could do the 'sitting' role and other than a few step overs and forward runs McGree looked lightweight and too keen to hang on to the ball in a lot of games last season for me.

If he's still here and fit, and we're not going to start Howson, I'd rather play Crooks deeper and Payero to his right.

It’s all a hypothetical, if it’s not as the clocks stop..

I used to think you were ok, not so sure now with your proclamation of feline fetishism 😁

Indeed but the cat in question is a Maine Coon which are known for their affectionate, loyal and playful characteristics. Quite dog like really.

After what I watched there last night we are a million miles off being a good side so lets get some transfers in please.

We missed so many chances last night it was untrue. More so the senior players

Thought Dijksteel and Lenihan looked decent in first half. Finch looked busy. Thought Crooks and McGree looked poor(but my son and his mate thought McGree was good). Coburn looks nowhere near ready to start in the Championship is all round game is just not good enough. Bilongo was ok.
Second half Tav and Watmore were busy but both missed a lot of chances. Kav scored with his second bite of the cherry but should have put the first effort in. He looks decent though but nowhere near a first team starter yet. Fry had a good game and was pretty vocal so maybe Lenihan is rubbing off on him. Howson was blowing after about 20 minutes. Best player on the pitch for us was Coulson and my brother made the point that a neutral who didnt know the teams but knew one of the wing backs got rave reviews last season would of thought it was Coulson and not Jones who was hardly in the game(we did have to leave 10 minutes early so maybe he improved). Whether the injury to Bola will effect what Wilder decides with Coulson who knows.

Thought Hackney, Gibson, Dodds(but to be fair to him he just came on for Bola), Bilongo look nothing like first teamers. Didn't see much from Smith and Giles to be fair but would say Smith was more prominent of the two.

I know it was only one game and there is a long way to go yet so hopefully things will improve a lot. They need to. Obviously this is all just my opinion. Yours might and probably will differ.

Your point about the number of missed chances is certainly backed up by the highlights (now on MFC site). Wilders seems to agree. Some real glaring misses all round, but Tav particularly seems to lose all composure in front of goal. He should have had a hattrick last night.
EDIT You must have read my mind asred.

Good write up. Was wondering whether Kav might break through this season, but there’s a world of difference v York in August, to Bramall Lane in winter. Coburn has always looked like a finisher to me, so he’ll always need to be alongside players who do the creativity for them. I am assuming Uche and Chubs are completely out of the picture if Finch is starting in preference?

Always been a fan of Coulson. He's very athleticand quick and perfect for the wing back type role IMO so I'm surprised Wilder's happy for him to leave. I would be shipping out Bola before I would Coulson. Coulson is far more effective, especially in an attacking sense.
