I deleted it ages ago. Before Elon got hold of it.
I have Facebook, but rarely post, and instagram, FMTTM and an American writing workshop I subscribe to.
And my annual subscription to lovelyladiesaroundtheworld.com

I've not deleted it yet, I'm hoping Musk might sell it to someone sane, but I'm going through the process of deleting all my tweets and replies etc, and won't be posting, sharing or liking anything on there anymore.
 
I'm nearly at the point where all the people I follow have migrated to Bluesky.👍

Was going to keep it going to see how bad it's getting, but ventured over yesterday for the first time a couple of weeks and....dear me....fast becoming a right wing free for all pile on. Reasoned debate is dead, the derogatory terms "woke" and "liberal" are being flung about like confetti for ANY reason.....it's just become (even more of) a horrible cesspit.

Although I have a Twitter account, I have never installed the app and I only use the website to get Boro team news. If they're going to start putting that on BlueSky (and I suppose they will) then I won't bother with Twitter any more.
 
I'm using redact on my PC to delete all my tweets etc, takes a while but it's automated so you can just leave it running. Will leave my profile up until most have cottoned on to blue sky and moved over. By the looks of things that's not going to be long at all.

If people are moving over to bluesky it seems a good idea to put your bluesky handle in your twitter bio, so people can easily find you and migrate you over with the browser plugin skybridge.

Ditto. Otherwise it'd be canned in a heartbeat.
 
On slightly different point, I see that many US Facebook users are being automatically subscribed to following Trump and the Republicans Facebook pages.

Worrying times ahead.

That’s so scary. With so many people being influenced by social media the fact Trump and his tech bros have so much power no makes it worrying. What’s the bets the next four years see them spreading misinformation so people push for a longer term for Trump
 
Haven’t had it on my phone for nearly two months now, but I have an occasional browse when working to check for transfer stuff.

You just can’t avoid the brain rot on there. Even the non-political stuff is awful.

I’ve tried with BlueSky/Threads for football stuff but I think I’m just at the point of not needing that *hit* anymore.

I used to do that, then it just kept getting worse ... at one point I was just logged out of my account. I have now actively deleted my account.

With the use of AI and bots to deliver specific content to online media users I'd say thats already started and will accelerate quickly.

The issue with this is that it's in plain sight, without apology.
 
For some reason its algorithms are sending me right wing nut job views again and Im sure I am not the only one. It really is a cess pit now.
