Just booked a Covid test

Started with a sore throat last night and been coughing since this morning. I feel fine really, don't have a temp and can still taste so its probably just a cold but got to get tested. I haven't been anywhere so if it is positive I can only think my wife or son have brought it home from school and they haven't had any symptoms.

Fingers crossed for you that its only a cold or seasonal cough etc :-D

Fingers crossed you are negative or if not, this is as bad as it gets for you.

Did you manage to book the test easily enough? I had one about 3 months ago and found it quite easy.

Yeah it was really easy, just did it online. Only took a couple of minutes. I went to the cannon park one and it was great. Straight through, no messing about. Hopefully get the results tomorrow morning, am feeling pretty rough tonight though. Just got a really dry cough and sore throat. The cat won’t come near me either.

Good luck!

I've just come out of isolation after testing positive and like you I hadn't been anywhere to get it! It turned out that the wife had brought it home with her, she works in a nursery and several other staff members have also had it. Unfortunately workplaces like hers are under pressure to stay open and are now not as strict with the rules as they had to be when they were first allowed to open back up.
Thankfully my symptoms were no worse than a cold and the only real downside is the loss of taste and smell, I love my food and when all you have is a mouthful of texture the appeal of eating isn't as appealing.

Just spent a bit of time with a conspiracy theorist.
She was banging on about how Covid is just a 'normal' flu and that it is government propaganda. She even mentioned Bill Gates!
Asked her how come North Tees was overflowing with 160 Covid patients and she said that it would be the same every year with normal influenza.
Good ness me, it must be exhausting having all of these theories, do you think they are widespread?

Feel better soon Rico..

I get tested regularly at work and it's not pleasant, but better to do it and be on the safe side.
Hope you're feeling better soon Rico.

Looks like your cat might be an effective Covid-19 tester. Hire it out for a £billion. Track and trace won't miss the money.

Glad t
Thanks lads, just got result back and it’s negative. Still feeling ropey but at least we don’t have to stay inside for 10 days.

I have to say, very impressed with the testing system. Really easy to book and got the result within 24 hours.
Glad to hear It Rico. We’ve just had a call from our little ones nursery saying a child who was in on Monday and his family have tested positive, so he has to self isolate .

our little one has been snotty all week and coughing (normal tbh as he always has a cold) but I started with a scratchy throat last night and was drinking a hot tea to alleviate it when the nursery rang, so we’ve booked ourselves in for a test this afternoon.

I had a "good" experience with my test too at a time when it was in chaos. Good to know your negative, ignore the catscan it would seem.

Just got back, in and out within 20 minutes. We had to do our own as we had a child which made it quicker, I gagged a few times doing mine, and sore throat but wasn’t too bad.

The worst part was doing my toddlers. He was brave and let me put the swan up his nose but he hated it, and was crying a fair bit after which broke my heart.
