First time I’ve put fuel in the car since March so Drove to Wolviston as that’s normally quiet and it was busy as was the A19, and all shops.

As this is only day one of the new normal I think A second wave Is nailed on.

Did you make a whistle stop tour of 'all the shops' or just the 'biggest shops' at Wolviston Services to come to the conclusion that 'Teesside is packed' ?

What was the Toby Carvery like ?

I had 80 miles of diesel in the car at the start of March.. The car yesterday told me it was down to 20 miles left.. I perhaps should go get some more.. I am surprised I have used so much. but then again I am normally doing 100 miles a day on the A19 so not so surprising I guess when normally it thinks I do 60mpg and not probably 45 on 2 mile trips.

just completed my Direct Line mileage update... there may be a premium discount - off next years probably - if I'm over 1000 less than normal & as I'm doing 25 miles a week - at most - for the last 8 weeks... I reckon that is easy 1000 miles saved.

It's has got noticeably busier on the roads of a morning this week. This morning as I was coming home from nights the A19 flyover was very busy going North and judging by the driving then all the w@nkers are back behind the wheel.
There were two wide load lorries complete with escort going north and a huge amount of drivers were speeding through the 50 section at Norton and undertaking them.
Hopefully they cotton on to the fact that they'll be forced to social distance at work so they won't be able to rock up at 2 minutes before start time and they'll allow plenty of time to get to work safely and in good time to avoid crowding entrances. Start and finish times at industrial businesses should be staggered to avoid lots of people congregating.

The tube appears to be packed full of people with no facemasks on. There is no temperature checking in place. No app in place to see if anyone you have been sharing a carriage with is infected. No staggering of times people are supposed to go into work.

People are being asked to use their common sense. I would have thought it would be common sense for all the above measures to be in place before telling people to go back to work. F***ing shambles.

Three weeks and there will be a huge spike in hospital admissions. I don’t think the government will impose another lockdown unless the hospitals look like being unable to cope.

It is clear where the government priorities lie and it’s not the health of the general population.
