Just Back from Glastonbury - My Reflections

Such an overwhelming experience. I had expectations regarding size but the sheer number of different areas, food, activities, acts, exhibits, shows, people was just mind boggling. I spent 4 days with my head on a constant swivel. The atmosphere is quite unique for a festival that size. There’s a collective spirit that everyone seems to buy into. You feel safe and everyone is just really happy. Our group used the word ‘vibe’ a lot over the four/five days but there really was a different vibe about the place.
That’s not even considering the music.
It was a lot harder work than I expected. I was on my feet for most of the four days less sleep and the odd sit down between sets. Couple that with a lot of drink and very little sleep and the body is going to take some recovery time to get back to normal.
All that said I can’t wait to go back. The amount I didn’t get the chance to see and do is crazy considering the amount of walking we did. The stone circle, cineramageddon, Glastonbury-on-sea, the healing fields, the kids field, the acoustic tent and on and on…get me back in that field.

Oh and I saw loads of Boro down there which were all met with an UTB and a nod.

My 9th time as well & very possibly the best, yes it was busier than previous years but the atmosphere, people & bands were great , saw 18 fantastic bands but Idles, Self Esteem(can’t wait to see them at Deer Shed) , Foals, Libertines & PSB stood out , bring on 2023 🤞

You went intro the Kids field?

Good to see you had a great time. Did you try out Bella's field for any comedy or circus? If not try it out next time. You can't possibly do everything. This year I did some dad dancing in Shangra La at 2 am at the Truth Stage. I wouldn't do that anywhere else in the world.

Nope…meant to get there because we’ve got a 14 month old and wanted to scope it out. Got to shangri-La though 😂 walked through the circus field but were on our way to some where else 🥴

Yeah i was also in that crowd! wasn't good at all, very dangerous and had no choice to continue going fo
I must be in a very small minority who enjoys Glastonbury from the sofa, but the thought of actually going there.......😖😖

Not knocking the people who go and have a great time btw, just too big for me. Or the very real possibility I'm too old.........👍
It is a bit scary when you go.
That’s why I want to go again - I got the hang of it by the end in 2019
Will be trying for tickets again
