Josh Coburn

This has to be the song for josh given his surname has ‘burn’ in it ……

We asked Coburn to bulk up a bit over the summer with a view to giving him a shot at being our main CF - but he overdid it a bit and injured himself which is why he barely played in pre-season.

I'm chuffed for the lad though, been great the last two games, like Akpom last season he's a real handful and defenders will hate playing against him. I'd love to see Latte Lath playing off him going forward, think those two could build up a solid partnership.
Where did you get he was asked to bulk up over the summer?
He was outmuscling defenders for Rovers nearly a year ago, if you read any reports on him you know that they couldn't believe how strong he was then, and that he was giving a lot older more experienced pros a real hard time.

I've been surprised by how mature his all round game is for a player of his age especially a centre forward.

He's a brilliant focal point, but he's a lot more than a traditional no.9, he's got so many elements to his game, in addition to being a a real physical presence too.

If he keeps on developing his game, and let's be realistic in that's he's only played a couple of games, he'll be a massive player for us and no doubt go to the PL.

Had a great game today.

***** penalty, but he led the line really well and stood up to some pretty rough treatment.

Could have had a hat trick if Crooks hadn't decided to steal the ball from him.

I'm buzzing for him, he probably needed a good game after his recent form.

He played ok, I wouldn’t say he led the line ‘really well’, just ok, but his lack of pace showed a few times. Their Cb pulled his shirt at least 4 times today.

I just don’t see it, works hard and battles but lacks any quality, he isn’t going to get us promoted and if Lathe isn’t the answer we need a new first choice in Jan

He has played well every time I've seen him this season, without getting the goals. Glad he got a brace yesterday. There will be plenty more, especially when he learns how to deal with players that are holding his shirt and sleeves ... the Stoke CBs did it all game. Perversely he may need to be "weaker" and be dragged down at an opportune moment. Not cheating, just making it more clear to the officials that he is being impeded. That said, against Stoke, he was still strong enough and quick enough to beat his marker to the ball even when being tugged back.
