Josh Coburn

yeah always will be a recall clause when just going out for experience, just incase they get nothing out of it
its more the loans to get someone off the books to save money where its more set in stone

if we can live without him leave him there for me, will come back busting to go
On balance I agree with all the comments about his development at Bristol both on and off the pitch.

That said, if Carrick still can’t get our plethora of strikers scoring by the turn of the year then we need to send muniz back and recall josh to assist us because him and akpom up top or with watmore would surely produce more goals and goals win games!

Sending him out on loan was absolutely the best thing for his development and the team at the time, people are forgetting games he played where he, understandably so, was very easily bullied by average centre halves and offered very little.

However, if he has filled out a bit and developed as we all hope he has and he continues to bang them in for Rovers against the technically lacking, undoubtedly physical centre halves of League One, then bringing him back in January IF he is going to start, will also be the right decision.

Based on the player we saw last year going out on loan was the best move for him. Great finisher but the rest of his game was very raw. Great he's looking like becoming a first choice for BR, minutes under his belt is the best thing for him.

He does look like he's filled out and grown into his body a bit too.

Obviously a decision for Carrick to make in January.

To be fair to Josh - he said on his arrival at Rovers that he wanted game time and wanted to be part of the team.
He fought hard to come back from injury and appears to have grasped the nettle at Rovers.
It seems odd that we recruit young players "for the future" when we have a production line of talent in our academy.
Josh will benefit from the rough and tumble of the Third Division and will come back a more "all - round" footballer, as well as having put some muscle on [a good few dinners].
Lets hope his future lies with us and not with another club in the same league - like Nathan Wood at Swansea [for example] (y)

Had forgotten about Wood, are either Lenihan or Clark upgrades?
