Sky saying we are interested in him yet again. Hard to believe though as I’m sure if we were really interested he would be a boro player by now. Also there was a poster on here saying that they had heard from his family we weren’t interested in signing him.

Interesting to see how it develops but I just don’t see it. If we were to sign him though it would be interesting as he doesn’t fit into a 352 that’s for sure so maybe we would sign a left back aswell.
 
I am more concerned that since Gerrard made it known he has no future at Rangers we are the only club that I have seen being linked with him.
He was a wrong un when he left Boro and it seems he has maintained that reputation at Rangers.


The only way I see Boro being remotely interested in him now is if he was leaving Rangers for free.
And on those terms, there would be a scramble for him.
 
On sky sports transfer centre mentions our selves and them 2 clubs. Can see him leaving on loan to be honest but can’t see it being to us.
 
I am not 100% sure there would be a scramble for him - he only played 7 times for Rangers last season. He is slightly damaged goods in footballing terms. However he is a good age at 24. To me I would want to be reassured he is 100% focused on developing his football talents and wants to avoid negative influences and put part of his ego away. In the old days it was called settled down.
 
I wouldn’t say he’s done much wrong at Rangers, he made a stupid tackle and got injured/sent off and hasn’t been able to force his way back into the side. It happens. People are making out that he’s a complete wrong un, causing trouble, at odds with the law etc which isn’t really the case.
 
They do seem to keep going on about the same old names. I know nothing about him but he's not done much in Scotland.

If you don't get anywhere near Rangers first 11 then it doesn't fill me with confidence. I guess he's around 500k-1mil at best? I'd rather have Roberts if he's coming in a a winger. He maybe a wingback (final nail in Coulson if true)

Over the last year or so The Gazette featured him with him being a local lad twice I think.
I don’t know if his agent is pushing him Towards us on his instructions but he is often linked with us regularly for some reason.
I would love to know why Gerrard is so readily discarding him.
He has a reputation of being hot headed and aggressive but so did he.
( Gerrard) I think we are not being given the full SP on Jones.

In our threadbare financial state, beggars can’t be chooser’s I suppose.
 
Worth a shot, would be cheap and probably on bobbins wages at Rangers.

Like others have said, he offers options, versatility and competition for places.

If Spence or Johnson get injured who can currently come in?

Our first team squad barely covers the bench at the moment, dont think we are in a position to be too choosy

Would be useful as a squad option as a winger but if we are reluctant to change current formation I don’t see where he would fit in. Wouldn’t have him as a wing back.
 
Wingers are of little use without orthodox full backs and given we don’t really possess them its a no from me. His attitude has been questioned both at Boro and Rangers, so stay clear.

Agree. No point in wingers unless we are signing a left back. Think Dijksteel is good at Right back or Centre back. Happy he’s now proving his worth
