I asked @uncle_rico the same question, who would drop out if we played three at the back and would it upset the balance?I think Clarke might have to wait to get back in, unless we play 3 at the back.
Clarke, RVB and Edmunson for me. Borges and Ayling FBs. Carrick might want more pace there though. Jones RWB we know can be very effective too.I asked @uncle_rico the same question, who would drop out if we played three at the back and would it upset the balance?
I think you are unbalancing the team to accommodate Clarke, Edmundson and RVB. I could see a time for that formation but now isn't the time.Clarke, RVB and Edmunson for me. Borges and Ayling FBs. Carrick might want more pace there though. Jones RWB we know can be very effective too.
I think Carrick will keep the defence the same for Watford and rightly so after that performance.I think you are unbalancing the team to accommodate Clarke, Edmundson and RVB. I could see a time for that formation but now isn't the time.
I think it has more to do with McGree coming in than Clarke being out.I llke Clarke, but since he's been out we seem to move the ball quicker from defence.
Saved me having to type. Although I have nothing but huge admiration for Clarke.I llke Clarke, but since he's been out we seem to move the ball quicker from defence.
Not to mention the worst left backs in Championship history. Apparently. If Sheffield United concede tomorrow, we've got the joint 2nd best defence in the league despite having half our defence out injured.
What annoys me is when, in the past, we've had a bad run of results and maybe conceded a few goals then some fans are very quick to blame Woodgate, crap defensive coach, blah blah blah. Doesn't get the credit he deserves Woody.
Huge improvement defensively. The best in a long time. We were compact when we needed to be, retained the ball well, shape was excellent throughout, concentration levels from all were spot on and we won a lot of our one on one's which is so important against a team like WBA away from home. Excellent performance.Without six of our defenders tonight, we looked great defensively. A clean sheet against a dangerous former top of the league team. We play out like he used to do as a player. Credit due to one of our own.
I have nothing against him, but we seem to get more clean sheets when he’s out. It’s possibly mind against muscle.I llke Clarke, but since he's been out we seem to move the ball quicker from defence.
