Electricity supplied by Gas is not going to work long term, for many reasons.
Good, we need something operating in the background as Wind/ Solar won't work full time/ all year round.
At least this is actually on our land, and the energy production price will be agreed in advance and not subject to costs which we have zero control over. The French know how to build Nuclear, but not owning it is a bit of a bad move, long term, albeit an extra £19.3bn would be hard to stomach.
