Level?? No way you could score that level going in to the 11th.Weird fight that, Joyce was comfortably the better fighter and yet I had it level going into the 11th.
He's a bit like Wilder in that he's not great but he's a problem for anyone. Never looks hurt, never looks tired, very powerful and just keeps walking forward.
I have no problem with it being wide, there were a lot of close rounds which was strange for how one sided the optics were. Quite a few rounds where Joyce was walking forward the entire round but not really landing a whole lot and Parker would land some solid shots.Level?? At best 7-3 to Joyce heading in to the 11th no more than that. Joyce was out working him, hurting him - pretty much dominating. Parkers work rate wasn’t there - clearly trying to nick the rounds with some “good work” in the last 30-45secs of each round but it wasn’t good enough as Joyce was throwing more back in return and more than taking Parkers power shots.
IMO there were only 1 maybe 2 rounds that were close, I think Joyce had a lot of success and landed quite often and most shots were troubling parker you could tell by his body language Joyces shots were hurting where as the odd “solid” shot from Parker barely troubled Joyce. You could tell by looking at the physical condition of both fighters at the end, Parkers face looked a mess and Joyce hardly had a mark on him.I have no problem with it being wide, there were a lot of close rounds which was strange for how one sided the optics were. Every round was inching Joyce closer to victory even when I thought Parker won them just through his presence and making Parker work, constantly backing him up. I was surprised Parker lasted as long as he did.
I get scoring rounds based on how hurt a fighter was but you can't score a round based on how not hurt a fighter was. Carl Froch would never have lost a round. There were rounds where Joyce didn't land an awful lot and Parker landed some solid shots, doesn't matter if Joyce didn't flinch, they're scoring shots.IMO there were only 1 maybe 2 rounds that were close, I think Joyce had a lot of success and landed quite often and most shots were troubling parker you could tell by his body language Joyces shots were hurting where as the odd “solid” shot from Parker barely troubled Joyce. Only Wilder in my opinion and we have no idea what's left of him after the Fury trilogy, he could be absolutely cooked at this point. Can anyone knock Joyce out? Wilder?
I can see Fury and Usyk outpointing him but I can't see anyone else beating him.
Great fight.
Full value for money.
Joyce gets better and better - thought he was good against Dubois but was very clever tonight.
Felt a bit sorry for Parker who was in the shape of his life
Round 1 and 4 I agree and 5 was close that could have gone either wayI get scoring rounds based on how hurt a fighter was but you can't score a round based on how not hurt a fighter was. I've had a look on a boxing forum I go on occasionally and plenty of people were scoring the same rounds I was for Parker, needed to check for my sanity
I'll double check tomorrow but I think I gave Parker 1, 4, 5, 9 and 10.
I was lucky enough to have a free ticket with very good seats.Bloomin' love the boxing but never been to a live fight.
I'll have to get my finger out but it looks like it usually costs a good few hundred for a decent seat.
You saw a good one tonight though Priv.
Joyce has obviously come on but he has been schooled by usyk in the pastCan anyone knock Joyce out? Wilder?
