Jed Wallace

We have scouts and a recruitment team working full time, all year round... I don't understand why we go after the same players window after window when it didn't work last time.

and how many times have we tried to buy him now?

interesting to see we were willing to part with £3m for an experienced championship right winger.. kind of throws 'the model' out of the window,

do we go after the same players window after window? We went after Wallace once before. Who else have we been chasing for years?
Things change - contract situations, club finances, player value etc so i guess no two offers are the same.

(This isn't me defending the clubs recruitment strategy by the way)

We were after Jed Wallace in summer 2018 and then again in January 2022 - and it seems again in summer 2023.

Nahki Wells in summer 2019 and January 2022.
Matty Phillips before he joined West Brom in 2016, then again while at West Brom in summer 2018.
Antoine Semenyo's been linked more than once recently too (wish we signed him).

It goes further back...
We wanted Aden Flint a year or two before we got him, when his CB partner moved to the PL for big money - Ended up paying much more than we wanted him for the year before.
We also wanted George Saville a year before we got him, and again ended up paying more.

And even further back... Pretty sure Ross McCormack was another one. Graham Dorrans. Rob Hulse. The Cameroon winger who went to Portsmouth.
