January purchases

I'm totally at a loss where Boro, or indeed any team in the Championship, is with money to spend on new players.

While it might be academic now, I was hoping we could splash some cash in January to bring in new players to boost our PO hopes. But realistically is there any cash to splash? For us or any team

Unlikely unless we sell someone, most likely mid table mediocrity for us this season.

only place to look is the free agent market-- any player on there is probably looking at a pay-by-game approach so I just can't see anything but sticking with what we have-- that's why Warnock was bulling up our academies. The Akpom deal really looks like it's been a bust -- a million squid on a player who doesn't really possess any real qualities but then again we all knew that right. We would have been better off signing Charlie Wyke or someone who can at least head the friggin ball.

Chuba cost 2.6 million, not one million!!

IMO we need a big lump who can hold the ball up under pressure then bring others into play, preferably in the box.

I don't know what the issue was/is with Mendez Laing, but to me he would fit the bill. He's quick as well as strong.
