Can someone fill us on this young lad. Looked a big until for a young lad. How old, how tall, is he likely to be around the squad next season?

Posted yesterday he's flown past older CBs in the pecking order although the u21s had a playoff match yesterday which might have had some bearing on his inclusion.
I was thinking similar yesterday, all the injury problems we’ve had in defence this season and we haven’t had a U21 player step in, but this lad comes in right at the end out of nowhere. Fair play to him.

More like lip service being paid.

How greenwood and silvera have played so much and stunk the place out in front of Gilbert being given a go is beyond strange.

Law McCabe could well be another given barlaser and OBrien’s efforts this season. Who knows who else isn’t getting a chance who could outshine the squad fillers we keep buying to pad the squad out

I don't think they were squad fillers, sometimes signings just don't work, fans should accept that, it's the reality.

Attitudes change too, we saw it with Akpom, perhaps that's what we're seeing with Gilbert.

Greenwood and Silvera may not have been outstanding but they've had their moments, as late as the last home match in Greenwood's case. They're young players, still learning the game in Greenwood's case and into a completely different environment in Silvera's case.

I thought greenwood looked really good when he came on on Saturday.

I think he’s on a similar level to Azaz and I wouldn’t be against signing him for £1.5m (with sensible wages)

He's been absolutely pony for a about 2 months now, one game doesn't change that.

God no, he had one good game earlier in the season but the bottom line he is clearly not upto standard.
Very good at fouling, losing the ball, I dont even think he is even good at set pieces.

I wouldnt sign him for free even with less than sensible wages.

Same level as Azaz? He makes Azaz look like a prime Ronaldinho.

That being said I wouldn’t be against signing him, there’s a lot of room for improvement with Greenwood and I’m confident he will come good.

Azaz has done significantly more than Greenwood in half the time

Not good at set pieces? I must have imagined that goal against Leicester.

He had 6 goal contributions in 8 games before xmas so not sure which one of those was his "one good game".

Fans have short memories.

I agree he's not top championship standard "yet" - but he's worth £1.5m all day long. Greenwood and Ayling should be first through the door in the summer.

Leicester H, Sunderland H, Sheff W H, Millwall A, Sunderland A, Swansea A (and Rotherham A where he was pretty unlucky) just off the top of my head good games Greenwood has had this season. Admittedly most before xmas.
I've said this a million times now but 8 goal contributions in your first full season plus quite a few near misses isn't a bad return for your first season. I'd rather sign him and try and develop him further than start again with someone else (though that depends who our options are).
