James McClean

The world is facing an existential crisis. Instead of keeping his 'followers' up to date as to how he's doing or reminding them how to stay safe during these unprecedented times he decides to give his toddlers an Irish 'history lesson' wearing attire associated with a banned terrorist organisation. The man is a disgrace and likewise so is anybody even attempting to defend him or his actions, be it failed humour or otherwise, IN THIS INSTANCE.

He’s an attention seeking pr*ck. End of. He loves stuff like this, he can’t go a few months without people talking about him. He loves it.

Exactly no one is commenting on the poppy on this thread it’s his decision to use social media to promote his provo loving mantra and basically stir up the troubled past, that is both dangerous irresponsible and as it’s promoting religious intolerance and hatred also illegal.

My nfl daish flag comparison stands could you imagine that in the us as it’s no different.

It doesn't really stand up though, does it? Da'esh is not an organisation that could ever have tried to claim to be representing the interests of a large section the US population. I'm not trying to defend McClean but you can hardly compare the Provisional IRA in Northern Ireland to da'esh in the US.

I think a better comparison might be to one of the indigenous anti-government groups in the US like the Montana Freemen or the Michigan Militia but with much wider support.

Hes being stupid again, he shouldnt expect anything other than vitriol the way hes going on. Its his kids who I feel sorry for, although he may teach them how he and his community see things it only makes the prejudice and has them carrying baggage.
Big Jack Charlton showed us all how to go on with each other and how to win friends an influence people.

I like Niall Quinns Take below

Jack Charlton started the Peace Process and he was responsible for the start of the Celtic Tiger era in Ireland,” the former Arsenal, Man City and Sunderland striker says. “And he did it just by being himself.”

Good read if you can be bothered it may help some think.

A better comparison would be a Basque player moving to play football outside of the Basque Country in La Liga and then repeatedly choosing to promote the ETA and their terrorism whilst happily collecting his big wage from the country he dislikes so much.

You can support Irish unification without supporting bombing.

That is the perfect example in fact the basque flag was flown outside SF offices.

Either way he’s advocating a terrorist organisation that killed countless people on these islands. He chose to play in England afterall.
